Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an experiencedSenior Transportation Hydraulics Engineer to join our Transportation team in Raleigh, NC. This position will provide technical leadership and engineering expertise on a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, leading complex design efforts, mentoring engineering staff, and delivering innovative solutions to meet client needs. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical capabilities, project leadership experience, and the ability to manage engineering responsibilities across all phases of project delivery.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nServe as the lead engineer on mid- to large-scale transportation projects, providing technical direction and oversight throughout project development and delivery\nProvide specialized technical expertise and engineering input for transportation studies, planning, and design efforts\nLead the development and review of complex engineering designs, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements.\nReview, approve, and seal engineering plans and deliverables within area of expertise and professional licensure\nDevelop and present complex technical solutions and recommendations to clients, project stakeholders, and internal leadership\nPerform quality control and quality assurance reviews of engineering designs and technical documents prepared by other team members\nMentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, supporting professional development and technical excellence\nContribute to the preparation of technical proposals, scopes of work, and project pursuits to support business development efforts\nDevelop engineering budget estimates, resource requirements, and project schedules for large-scale transportation projects\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project execution and delivery\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelors Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or the ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity\n6 years of Hydraulics experience, closed system drainage, and ditch design \n2 years of Hydraulic modeling experience \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExtensive experience in transportation engineering, including roadway and highway design.\nExperience leading complex transportation infrastructure projects for NCDOT or other state and local transportation agencies\nNCDOT experience \nExperience working on a design build \nProficiency with engineering design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, etc.\nExperience managing technical teams, mentoring engineering staff, and coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts\nStrong understanding of applicable transportation design standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements\nExcellent communication, client relationship, and technical presentation skills\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
