Join us.\n AECOM is seeking an experienced Sr. Geotechnical Mining Engineer for employment in Lima, Peru.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nLead Geotechnical field investigations, construction observation, rock blasting observations, collect Geotechnical samples, reporting of daily field operations, review of Geotechnical data, perform Geotechnical analysis, and report writing; and inspection of mining and heavy earthwork construction projects including tailing dams, stockpiles, leaching operations, foundations, slopes and tunnels.\nDevelop material properties for soil and rock and evaluate the stability of tailing dams slopes, stock piles, and foundations\nPrepare portions of technical proposals and reports for tailings, stockpiles, leaching operations, and storm water facilities projects, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.\nCoordinate and integrate geotechnical mining evaluations results into civil design through the collaboration of other geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.\nDevelop tangible engineering design skills through field experience at mines locally and regionally. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, blasting, contractor/mining company engagement), site inspections, and Geotechnical investigations. Also provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.\nRecognize potential opportunities for additional work within an existing project or for an existing client.\nEngage in regional projects with other offices and disciplines.\nDemonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.\nExecute project assignments while utilizing critical thinking, engineering procedures to carry out project tasks.\nCandidate will have an opportunity to be involved in the construction of in-house designs, which will build on existing client relationships and lead to future projects.\nUse computer programs including GeoStudio, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Settle3, and MathCAD for geotechnical analyses.\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering\n8+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nExperience in Mining/Geotechnical Engineering projects.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Mining Engineering preferred.\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools\nExperience using geotechnical software.\nEnglish/Spanish fluency\n This position does not offer relocation assistance now or in the future\nThis position does not offer sponsorship assistance now or in the future\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
