The engineer will work primarily at the technology developer's office, collaborating closely with their team.\nThe successful candidate will possess a high level of understanding and experience in mechanical engineering design and technology principles for process/mechanical and generation projects, and is expected to be a detail-oriented, experienced engineer capable of making decisions independently.\nThe responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:\nResponsible for the mechanical engineering design work on assigned projects\nServe as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsibility for deliverable development\nCoordination with the mechanical piping design team to direct completion of engineering drawings.\nMulti-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, P&ID’s, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.\nProvides technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence and other studies presenting complex technical solutions to clients.\nGenerate applicable mechanical engineering deliverables to support all phases of scope development - Feasibility through Detail Design\nDevelop construction and equipment specifications and material requisitions\nHome office support of projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning\nPerforms quality control reviews of work developed by others\nParticipate in project and client meetings\nInteract with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractors\nAssist with internal and external presentations\nOccasional travel to client and/or project sites\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering\n6 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering for industrial or power generation projects\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProfessional Engineering licensure\n10+ years of experience preferred\n2+ yrs experience as project technical mechanical lead\nDemonstrated experience with specifying mechanical equipment (e.g. rotating equipment, tanks, pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchanges)\nFamiliarity with diverse metallurgy\nDemonstrated experience with engineering software packages: Caesar II, Pipe-Flo (or other hydraulic modeling application), AspenTech applications and/or Applied Flow Technology applications\nExperience with nuclear power generation and thermal power generation\nExperience executing work in 3D model environments and collaborative model environments (e.g. Navisworks, ACC)\nExperience with AutoCAD Plant3D Smart P&ID’s\nStrong knowledge of piping specifications and pipe stress analysis\nStrong experience leveraging laser scan or other data sets to inform design development\nKnowledge of typical stakeholders and be able to anticipate data requests and expectations\nDemonstrated experience in participating complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teams\nComprehensive knowledge of industry (incl safety) standards (e.g. API, ASME)\n Sponsorship is not available for this role.\nThis role would be contingent on project start.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
