Join us.\n AECOM’s Greater Pennsylvania Area Bridge (GPA) Engineering Practice is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a passion for bridge design. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established and very successful bridge design group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges, and career development opportunities.\nOur GPA Bridge Engineering Practice works on projects for our local clients, as well as mega-projects throughout North America. These projects are delivered across many clients via various delivery methods. The GPA Bridge Engineering Practice has offices in Philadelphia, PA, Conshohocken, PA, Mechanicsburg, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Morgantown, WV. This Structural Engineer role is a hybrid role, working a minimum of 2 days from one of these AECOM offices and the remaining days remotely each week.\nAs populations grow, so do demands for safe, expedient and cost-effective transportation. Our Greater Pennsylvania Area Bridge Engineering Practice partners with our clients to build, modernize and expand transportation projects that carry all our communities into the future - safely and reliably. We use our extensive knowledge in planning, designing and managing transportation systems - as well as restoring and replacing aging infrastructure - to help our public and private clients find smarter, more advanced ways to move people across cities, countries and continents.\nThe responsibilities of the Structural Engineer position include, but are not limited to:\nConceptual, preliminary and detailed final design of new bridges and other transportation structures;\nAnalysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges;\nUse of computer software for the analysis and design of bridges and other structures;\nPreparation and/or quality review checking of technical reports, design calculations, and structural plans;\nPreparation and/or quality review checking of technical specifications and construction cost estimates;\nWorking both independently and with groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists toward the development of structural design documents and contract deliverables;\nFollowing of QA/QC procedures to ensure the technical quality of deliverables, and assisting with responses to client’s comments on structural design elements of the deliverables.\nTraining, mentoring and helping to develop junior structural engineering staff; and\nStructural-related project task management.\nCurrent Projects\nBelow are some of the major, local bridge and bridge corridor projects that our GPA Bridge Engineering Practice is currently working on:\nI-95/Girard Avenue Interchange Reconstruction, PennDOT District 6-0\nI-80 17M Total Reconstruction, PennDOT District 5-0\nI-81 D46 Total Reconstruction, PennDOT District 4-0\nI-95/US322 Interchange Reconstruction, PennDOT District 6-0\nI-70 K30 Mainline Reconstruction, PennDOT District 12-0\nMcKeesport-Duquesne Bridge Rehabilitation, PennDOT District 11\nI-80 Brookville West, PennDOT District 10-0\nI-276 Widening and Reconstruction (Milepost 311 - Milepost 319), Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission\nCommodore Barry Bridge Structural Rehabilitation and Painting, Delaware River Port Authority\nSchuylkill to Suburban (S2S) Infrastructure Renewal Project, SEPTA\nSR 299 Viaduct over Appoquinimink River, DelDOT\nIn addition, several of our Bridge Engineering Practice personnel are currently supporting mega design-build projects across North America\n Minimum Requirements\nBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with structures focus and four (4) years of relevant experience working on bridges and other transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nProfessional Engineering License (PE) \nValid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM’s motor vehicle records review.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s Degree in Structural Engineering\nSix (6) or more years of experience with structural bridge design\nProject experience with PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and/or other State DOTs\nProficiency with CAD and similar computer software\nExperience in Finite Element Analysis using CSiBridge or other bridge FE analysis software\nExperience in BIM delivery and/or modeling using Bentley Open Bridge Modeler (OBM) or other modeling software\nExperience with alternative delivery methods or projects with early contractor involvement\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nRelocation assistance is not available for this position.\nThis is a hybrid position.
