Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer (Hybrid) to be based in Houston, TX.\nThe responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\nUndertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal defense and development schemes.\nMaritime design and planning, including maritime codes/standards such as USACE, PIANC, OCIMF.\nStructural design for wharves, piles, sheet piles, dolphins, across the United States.\nIndependently prepare engineering related calculations and develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details.\nPerforms specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.\nGathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.\nWorks on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.\nProposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.\nIdentifies discrepancies in results.\nProvides guidance to entry level engineers.\nPerforms work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.\nIndependently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.\nPerformance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.\nOccasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements.\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nA valid driver’s license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy\nProfessional Engineering (PE) License\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster of Science (with structural engineering concentration)\nTen (10) years or more of related experience\nExperience in the design of marine structures including wharves, piles, sheet piles, and dolphins in seismic zones\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\nKnowledge of computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, LPILE, SAFE and (or equivalent)\nKnowledge in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation\nProficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing\nDemonstrable interest in developing a career in Ports & Marine Engineering\nEnthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive\n Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
