AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA.
Job Details:
- Complete conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs of new bridges and other structures
- Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Conduct analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges
- Prepare and review engineering design calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications
- Coordinate with project managers and senior engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements, budget, and schedule
- Interpret and apply federal and state design standards and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded infrastructure projects
- Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study with no experience.
Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Position requires experience in the following:
- MS Office Suite
- Preparation of construction cost estimates
- CADD software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenBridge
- Design software including RCPIER, STAAD, and CsiBridge
- Industry-standard Design Codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Department of Transportation Design Requirements, including BD’s, BC’s, and DM-4
- Department of Transportation Design Software, including PSLRFD, STLRFD, BXLRFD, and BPLRFD
- Steel Girder Design and the AISC Steel Manual
- Concrete Design and the ACI Manual
