Join us.\n We are seeking a motivated and oriented Substation Engineer with a minimum of 1 year of substation experience to join our team. This position focuses on the delivery of Secondary Circuits design for High Voltage (HV) substations, including CAD drafting, schematic development, and preparation of technical documentation.\nThe role involves close collaboration with primary engineers, protection & control engineers, project managers, and client representatives to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.\nKey Responsibilities:\n1. Secondary Circuits Design & CAD Delivery\nDevelop and update secondary schematics and wiring diagrams for HV substations.\nProduce CAD drawings for:Protection and control (P&C) panels\nRelay and control schematics\nAC/DC distribution diagrams\nInterlocking and control logic diagrams\nTerminal block layouts\nCable schedules and interconnection diagrams\nMarshalling cabinet drawings\nPanel internal layouts\n\nSupport preparation of substation secondary design packages.\nEnsure drawings reflect project-specific configurations (single line diagrams, bay configurations, protection philosophy).\n2. Coordination & Integration\nCoordinate with primary engineers to integrate secondary systems with primary equipment.\nWork with protection engineers to implement relay logic and schemes.\nSupport interface coordination between protection panels, Control building, Yard equipment, SCADA / RTU systems.\nEnsure consistency between SLDs, schematics, cable lists, and panel drawings.\n3. Standards & Quality Control\nEnsure all drawings comply with applicable standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, utility standards).\nFollow company drafting standards and client requirements.\nPerform internal quality checks before submission.\nSupport drawing revisions based on comments from senior engineers or clients.\n4. Documentation & Reporting\nPrepare drawing registers and maintain revision control.\nSupport preparation of:Bill of materials (BOM) for secondary systems\nCable schedules\nI/O lists\nTechnical submittals\n\nMaintain organized documentation aligned with project milestones.\n5. Continuous Development\nDevelop knowledge in HV substation secondary systems (protection schemes, interlocking, control philosophy).\nSupport senior engineers in technical tasks to strengthen substation design competence.\nMandatory Qualifications:\nEducation: Degree or ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering or related field.\nExperience: Minimum 1 year of experience in HV/MV substations, with exposure to secondary circuits design.\nBasic understanding of protection and control systems in substations.\nNice to Have:\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).\nExperience with tools such as Revit, ETAP, or similar.\nUnderstanding of:Protection schemes (distance, differential, overcurrent)\nAC/DC auxiliary systems\nSCADA integration principles\n\nKnowledge of IEC / ANSI / IEEE standards.\nSoft Skills:\nGood communication and teamwork abilities.\nAdvanced English (written and spoken).\nStrong attention to detail.\nAbility to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks.\nProactive attitude and willingness to learn.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
