Join us.\n AECOM is actively growing the NYC Transportation Planning practice and is seeking a creative, highly talented Transportation Data Analysis and Visualization Specialist within the Transportation Business Line. The successful candidate will have experience overseeing and developing planning projects focused on using data analytics, transportation/transit planning, benchmarking, and financial analysis in support of capital program tracking, budgeting, and sequencing projects and capital programs for various federal/State/City agency clients in the NY Metropolitan Region.\nIn this role, you can expect to:\nLead efforts to collect, organize, analyze, and visualize transportation data to support agency decision-making for infrastructure projects within the New York Metro area.\nDevelop frameworks and execute coding of data analysis for large-scale data sources, including ETL processes and data platform integration.\nCreate intuitive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, and other visualization platforms to support design, maintenance, planning, and budgeting departments.\nServe as primary interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and business development initiatives.\nManage financial modeling, cost controls, capital programming, and performance tracking to support regulatory agency requirements and project delivery.\nCoordinate and direct project field and data collection efforts, including client visits and field activities as necessary.\nDevelop and deliver high-quality proposals, manage interdisciplinary teams, and produce comprehensive report deliverables.\nMaintain, update, and integrate legacy systems (CPAS, Oracle ERP, PRINTS AUX, ECMS, FTA TrAMs) to automate capital project data reporting.\nMentor junior and mid-level staff and provide technical support to Project Managers and Planning Department personnel.\nProactively enforce a culture of high-quality work and Health & Safety standards within the team.\nStay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data analytics and transportation planning.\nSupport design-bid-build and design-build infrastructure projects and collaborate across AECOM offices and business lines.\n Minimum Requirements:\nBA/BS in civil engineering, environmental science, economics, statistics, data science, urban planning, natural resources, or an earth science-related field plus 8 years of experience of demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.\nExperience with the ETL process and programming language for data analysis, like SQL/Python/R.\nExperience with New York Metro agencies including Metro North, MTA, PANYNJ, NJT.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n15+ years industry experience, preferably with data analytics and data modeling.\nCertification in project management (i.e. - PMP or similar).\nExperience with large-scale data sets.\nExperience with the ETL process and programming language for data analysis, like SQL/Python/R.\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nRelocation is not available for this position.\nTHIS POSTING IS FOR A CURRENT VACANCY, AND AECOM INTENDS TO FILL THIS POSITION BY December 29, 2026.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
