Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Wastewater Process Engineering Specialist/EIT to be based in Burnaby, BC.\nThis position is well suited for a recent graduate or early-career engineer interested in applying process and mechanical engineering principles to water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working under the supervision of experienced engineers, the successful candidate will support the planning, design, and delivery of treatment facilities, pumping systems, and related infrastructure while developing their technical and consulting skills.\nResponsibilities of this position include:\nApply standard engineering techniques and procedures to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects.\nSupport preliminary engineering design, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and working drawings under the guidance of experienced engineers.\nSelect equipment and coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and the engineering team.\nPrepare technical specifications, special provisions, and tender documents.\nCollect, analyze, and interpret project data to support engineering decisions.\nCoordinate shop drawing reviews and respond to technical inquiries.\nReview quantity and cost estimates for accuracy and completeness.\nSupport contract administration during construction of water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities.\nPrepare technical reports, analyses, and project documentation.\nDeliver assignments within scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.\nCommunicate project progress and technical issues, escalating complex matters as needed.\nCollaborate effectively with project teams while also managing assigned work independently.\nParticipate in professional development and industry events.\nTake on increasingly complex assignments as your technical knowledge and experience grow.\n Minimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or other related field.\nEligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training with EGBC.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAcademic, co-op, internship, or professional experience related to water or wastewater infrastructure, process engineering, mechanical systems, or engineering consulting.\nFoundational knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, and mechanical equipment.\nFamiliarity with pumps, piping, valves, process equipment, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and engineering drawings.\nAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong interpersonal, communication, teamwork skills and technical report writing skills.\nAble to organize workload and multiple project deadlines.\nBasic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position ( AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks).\n Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
