Join us.\n AECOM is seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Field Engineer to be based in our Washington, DC office. The RF Field Engineer will be responsible for data collection of various networks using RF measurement equipment and software tools. The candidate will be responsible for testing and troubleshooting system components including performing cable testing using cable analyzer equipment, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing using PIM test equipment, and analyzing collected data to provide recommendations. The candidate will perform physical inspection systems including active and passive components such as radio transmitters, bi-directional amplifiers, splitters, connectors, coaxial cable, fiber cable, antennas, etc.\nEssential Job Functions:\nPerform RF data collection using a scanner and spectrum analyzer\nPerform Insertion Loss (IL) test, according to the RF Cable Acceptance Test Procedure \nPerform Distance to Fault (DTF) test, according to the RF Cable Acceptance Test Procedure\nPerform PIM test, according to PIM Test Procedure\nTest fiber cable using fiber test equipment according to the Fiber Test Procedure\nAnalyze test data and provide recommendations to resolve issues\nCommission small to medium-scale DAS networks\nTroubleshoot and repair RF systems in consultation with the Engineering team\nInspect and analyze systems for any physical issues\nPerform site walks at various client locations to support system design\nAssist the Engineering Team with the analysis of existing systems and design for new systems\nDesign small to medium-scale systems using software such as iBwave\nWill assist the radio design team in testing, analyzing, and servicing LMR and mobile phone networks \n Minimum Requirements:\nHigh School plus eight years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nValid US Driver’s license\nU.S. Citizenship \nAbility to climb fixed ladders (≥ 24 ft) and work in dusty spaces\nPreferred Qualifications:\n3 years experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mobile phone and public safety Distributed Antenna Systems (or “DAS”) networks\nExperience in the installation and maintenance of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems preferred\n2 years experience in RF cable, fiber, and communication systems\nExperience in coaxial and fiber cable testing\nExperience in using data collection tools and software\nProfessional experience utilizing the following industry standard tools:Data collection tools such as PCTel scanner, JDSU, or TEMs\nCable Testers such as Anritsu S332E or equivalent\nFiber Testers such as Fluke, OTR\nPIM Testers such as Kaelus or Anritsu\n• Signal Generators \n\nDetail and safety-oriented\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nProficient using computers and MS Office\n Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position\nRelocation is not available for this position\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
