Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canada’s #1 utility construction provider and we're looking for an EHS Advisor to help us get there!\nThe Safety/EHS Advisor will be responsible to actively promote a health, safety and environmental culture to all levels of employees with the policies and procedures of Aecon’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manual.\nThis role is located in Vancouver, BC\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nDrive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.\nConduct Employee health and safety orientation and site specific safety orientation to workers, owners and clients.\nTrain employees in fall protection, confined space entry, traffic protection, traffic control person, WHMIS, respiratory protection, emergency response.\nCoordinate training such as WHMIS, First Aid, etc.\nConduct workplace inspections and audits.\nConduct behavioural observation in the workplace.\nDevelop workplace plans - such as emergency evacuations, fire emergency, traffic controls, fall protection.\nDistribution of safety material, supplies and equipment as needed to team members.\nConduct safety presentations to clients and promote Aecon safety systems to potential industry clients.\nParticipate as a visitor member of Joint Health and Safety Committees.\nConduct studies and analyze accident trends.\nInspect project facilities and recommend corrective actions, & coordination of environmental issues.\nWork with the Claims Administrator, assist with workers compensation claims and associated activities.\nDevelop return to work and modified work programs.\nAccident/Incident investigations.\nMediate health and safety issues for resolution.\nPrepare and assist with external safety audits.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nMinimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry in a Health and Safety role.\nOHS experience within Powerline projects is an asset.\nStrong knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety act and Regulations for Construction Projects.\nStrong knowledge of other Regulations, e.g. WHMIS, Asbestos in Construction, Designated Substances, Smoking in the Workplace.\nAbility to work with limited supervision and to be proactive.\nBe a champion of inclusion and diversity.\nExcellent verbal and written communication with strong relationship management skills.\nAdaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines. \nAbility to travel overnight and to project sites on short notice would be required.\nValid driver’s license.\nThe expected pay range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
