Guided by our core value of Safety Always, we partner with clients to build the infrastructure that powers the future.\nReporting to the Director of Project Controls (or designate), the Project Controls Analyst will be responsible for providing project controls support to ongoing projects and supporting the company’s estimating and construction teams to ensure that the company’s project controls system is properly implemented and utilized. This role will involve development and maintenance of data, dashboards, KPI's and predictive analytics for our Utilities projects.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nParticipate in developing, establishing, and maintaining the company’s project cost control systems. \nAssist the project team in setting up the project WBS, project cost codes, and the project baseline Budget. \nMonitor the project performance and ensure that the project controls system is properly implemented. \nTrain the project team on how to implement and maintain the prescribed change management procedures. \nProvide Aecon management team with all the required project controls summary reports and analyses. \nReview the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting and all related issues) are applied and fulfilled when setting up the project within Aecon’s project controls system. \nParticipate in setting up and controlling the project structure (WBS) and related cost structure (CBS). \nParticipate in the coordination between estimating and site to ensure that the project controls system is properly implemented. \nMonitor the change management system on site by making sure that the project staff understands the system and how the changes should be managed and tracked on site and within Aecon’s systems. \nEnsure that the project site staff and crew understand the cost code structure of the project and that they are charging their expended hours to the correct codes. \nReview and analyze the project controls reports (i.e. progress and productivity) with the Project Controls Lead and the project team and suggest corrective actions to maintain expected performance and productivity. \nReview and analyze the project scheduling and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within planned cost and schedule. \nPrepare and update project cash flows as required throughout the project life cycle. \nSupervise and mentor developing Project Controls Analysts. \nAssist the project manager in preparing project monthly reports and forecasting. \nAssist the project scheduler and the project team in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining the project schedule.\nDrive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging. \nWhat You Will Bring to the Team:\nGood knowledge of the “Earned Value” principles. \nExperience in data analytics tools including but not limited to advanced MS Excel, Power Query, SAP, and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).\nExperience in automating data flow and setting up data pipelines would be an asset.\nKnowledge/ experience in using SQL & Python would be an asset.\nExperience developing dashboards, KPIS and analytics in support of business operational excellence. \nDesign, develop and establish key reporting standards.\nAbility to read schedules and scheduling curves/reports. \nBetween two and three (2 to 3) years of related experience. \nGood knowledge of cost engineering/cost control. \nStrong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment. \nExcellent interpersonal and team skills \nExcellent written and oral communication skills \nAbility to work effectively with all levels of management and employees. \nWillingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.\nDetail oriented and customer focused. \nEffective analytical and problem-solving skill. \nHydro and Utilities experience considered an asset. \nPost-secondary education - Bachelor of Science (Engineering discipline) or C.E.T.; Bachelor of Commerce.\nAdaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines. \nValid driver’s license and open to travel.\nBe a champion of inclusion and diversity. \nThe expected pay range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
