(ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We are focused on hiring only those exceptional individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to the collective goal of maintaining our Aecon ‘zero injury’ culture.\nACSI is seeking experienced Carpenter Apprentices & Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success.\nKey Responsibilities\nInterpreting and applying information found in drawings, specifications \nUndertaking the layout (selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring and marking materials).\nPrepare, erect and remove structural formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams and shafts.\nCutting and shaping materials and joining them with nails, screws, bolts or glue.\nChecking completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location.\nGeneral carpentry such as framing, hoarding, doors and frames and other activities as assigned.\nJourneyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.\nRequirements and Experience\nFall Protection - In Class\nProven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.\nAbility to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.\nAbility to work in all weather conditions and environments.\nMust be fluent in English, both written and verbal.\nEngineered formwork experience would be considered an asset\nAbility to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time\nManual dexterity\nGood sense of balance when working on scaffolds, ability to work at heights.\nThe ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately\nMust have a strong understanding of safety procedures and policies on an industrial job site\nCandidates may be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check.\nAecon has every intention of fostering diversity within and across our organization.
