Aecon Industrial provides its clients with a vertically integrated solution, self-performing all disciplines of work.\nWe are seeking a passionate Civil Project Manager to help us execute complex projects across Canada. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of our business unit and be involved in field operations on-site daily.\nPlease Note: the successful candidate for this role must be willing and able to mobilize to project sites across Canada.\nWhat You Will Do Here:\nBe accountable for ensuring all project management activities are successfully executed, including;\nSupport the proposal/estimating team to provide a quality submission that is both competitive and achievable.\nLead the transition from estimating and preconstruction into project execution, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resource planning.\nBuild and mentor project team.\nPromote a work environment that retains high-performing project teams while fostering a collaborative and accountable project culture.\nDevelop project goals to meet or exceed the owner’s deliverables and align with Aecon’s corporate initiatives.\nChampion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.\nAdhere to the critical path (i.e., ensure effective project controls to track, monitor, and adjust the schedule).\nDemonstrate commercial acumen to control costs and improve margins.\nEnforce timely change management practices.\nOversee quality, testing, start-up and commissioning.\nAccurately forecast and report performance (e.g., safety, schedule, cost, and quality).\nIdentify, mitigate, and manage project risks.\nOversee procurement of subcontractors, major equipment, and line materials.\nEffectively negotiate and execute contracts in a timely and cost-effective manner.\nManage and foster all stakeholder relations (e.g., Owner, Regulators, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.).\nChair project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for Aecon.\nWhat You Bring to The Team:\n10+ years of industrial construction experience with 5+ in leadership capacity.\nProven experience working with a general contractor delivering full lifecycle heavy industrial projects valued at $100M+.\nBackground in Civil Works including piling, earthworks, underground utilities, and concrete works.\nPost-secondary education in engineering, construction management, trades, or equivalent discipline is an asset but not required.\nPrevious management experience with alternative project delivery (e.g., design-build, construction management at risk, P3, IPD, etc.).\nExperience with BIM, considered a benefit.\nExperience executing Lean Construction Principles, considered a benefit.\nGeneral knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology.\nWillingness and ability to travel extensively and support site-based execution.\nAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
