With more than a century of experience and a full suite of integrated services, Aecon is a trusted partner for delivering complex civil projects, including tunnels, transit expansions, airports, ports, highways, and large scale site development.\nReporting to the Communications and Community Engagement Director, the Communications Specialist will support with project communications and community engagement while maintaining strong client relationships. This role will help execute approved communication, engagement, experience with elected officials, and proven communications expertise on large infrastructure projects.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nCommunity Engagement: Develop and implement proactive engagement initiatives that foster positive relationships with residents, businesses, community organizations and other stakeholders along the YNSE corridor.\nStakeholder Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for community inquiries, concerns and construction-related issues, ensuring timely, professional and solutions-oriented responses.\nPublic Consultation: Plan, coordinate and participate in community meetings, open houses, stakeholder working groups, construction liaison committees, and other public engagement activities.\nCommunity Outreach: Lead proactive canvassing, business outreach and stakeholder engagement activities to strengthen relationships.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nUniversity degree or college diploma in communications, public relations, journalism or equivalent.\nMinimum 3 years of related experience, with infrastructure experience considered an asset.\nExperience using the Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva considered an asset.\nAbility to use Microsoft Office suite of products.\nStrong written/oral communications skills.\nHighly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.\nSelf-starter with the ability to work individually or within a team environment and be receptive to direction.\nStrong interpersonal skills, with a team-first attitude and strong work-ethic.\nValid Driver's License.\nSecurity Clearance and Background Checks Required.\nReason for Vacancy: New\nThe expected pay range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
