If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nAs part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.\nThe EHS Advisor is responsible for working directly with the EHS Manager and Fabrication team to support accountability in relation to Environment Health and Safety.\nThis position is located in Cambridge, ON.\nWhat You’ll Do Here\nProvide advisement and monitoring of the development, implementation, performance and effectiveness of the Safety Management Program, and all other EHS related plans.\nNotify Managers and Supervisors of any compliance issues associated with the work and assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions\nWork with the team to understand EHS support requirements and accountable to schedule EHS staff to meet facility needs \nHave a field facing approach to safety management\nSpend time in the field advising staff, modelling behaviour and re-enforcing standards\nEnsure effective completion of project safety meetings and support or conduct audits and incident investigations.\nEnsure that EHS metrics (leading and lagging indicators) are regularly compiled, trended and reviewed with the EHS Director, operational teams.\nTake an advisor role in promoting injury prevention within a culture of health, safety and continuous improvement.\nSupport the facility in notifications and event management \nTrain staff in the requirements of safety procedures;\nWhat You Bring To The Team\nA designation such as NSCO or CRSP\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety within the nuclear or construction industry\nRelevant Post Secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field\nA Team Player that accepts and can manage change regularly\nDemonstrated Leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills\nDemonstrated ability to manage sub-contractors safety performance\nEmergency Planning and Hot Work Procedures\nWorking in a union environment\nWillingness to contribute toward, and assist colleagues with projects across functional areas and outside of primary responsibilities to contribute toward the overall team’s success\nReason for vacancy: Replacement\nSalary range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
