(United) is currently seeking a Structural Discipline Engineer to join our team at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant in Glen Rose, TX. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of engineers and designers at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant and will function as a Structural Lead Engineer working on plant modification packages, engineering calculations, evaluations, and studies.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nFunction as the structural lead engineer, prepare structural design change packages, coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and vendors to complete tasks on schedule and on budget.\nPrepare structural calculations and evaluations in support of various design activities including, but not limited to the design of piping, cable and small equipment supports, instrument rack design, floor load impacts to concrete, structures evaluations, equipment anchoring evaluations and seismic response evaluations.\nInterface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and start up activities.\nExercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues, review completed work by others to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data, coordinate the efforts of the structural group with other disciplines.\nDevelop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules.\nWhat You Bring To The Team:\nBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license is required, with the ability to obtain a PE in Texas.\nMinimum of 10 years of relevant experience with industrial steel and concrete design serving heavy industrial facilities. \nThe successful candidate must be able to obtain unescorted access within a nuclear power plant.\nEngineering and design experience include developing structural modification packages.\nGood written and oral communication skills\nFive (5) years of experience relating to structural modifications and evaluations of commercial nuclear power plants.\nExisting Design Engineer qualifications at a commercial nuclear power plant\nFamiliarity with nuclear standards and guidelines.\nNANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01)\nField experience at an operating Nuclear Plant\nCitizenship Requirements:\nThis position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations.
