If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nThe intermediate Cost Controller will be responsible for providing cost control support to ongoing projects and supporting the company’s estimating and construction teams to ensure that the company’s project control system is properly implemented and utilized.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nOverall responsibility for compliance of assigned projects with project controls standards - both from applicable contract documents and from Aecon project controls policies/guidelines\nAssist in project set-up, converting bids into baseline budgets, reconciling gaps.\nParticipate in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and baselines.\nLiaise with external groups (Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Construction, etc.) to gain inputs into Project Controls reports.\nCreate & maintain project status update reports, forecast reports & project dashboards; ensure timely issuance to internal & external stakeholders (per client requirements)\nCreate & maintain customized reports or dashboards to adapt to evolving risks & project needs.\nDevelop and maintain resource plans, ensuring cost & schedule alignment.\nRegularly conduct variance analysis to understand trends & other baseline deviations in support of rigorous change management; provide variance narratives & propose corrective actions or recovery plans.\nPrepare Earned Value Management KPIs to assess project performance.\nAssist in the creation & maintenance of tools & templates that ensure compliance with the processes outlined in the Project Controls plan & contract requirements.\nDevelop and maintain a change log to track all internal & external changes and monitor progress through the change management process.\nReview the contract to ensure compliance with contract conditions regarding reporting, change management, and all other Project Controls areas.\nEstablish and maintain the CBS & control accounts in alignment with baseline budgets; connect SAP with CPM for alignment of financial reporting.\nManage chart of accounts library to ensure consistency & alignment with established budgets; ensure WBS & CBS alignment.\nProactively monitor forecasts to ensure timely closure of closed cost accounts.\nEnsure forecasts are updated timely & accurately; ensure forecasting is informed by performance KPIs & project trends.\nLiaise with Finance & Accounting teams to support project level financial forecasting & month end reporting.\nLiaise with Procurement, Finance & Accounting teams to ensure appropriate Subcontractor & Purchase order management, accurate incurred cost reporting via timely accruals & invoicing.\nPrepare and update project cash flow forecasts in alignment with the project schedule.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\n3-7 years of related cost control experience.\nQuantitative, Engineering or Construction Management Post-Secondary Degree.\nExperience on construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects\nAbility to independently prepare monthly forecasts and cost reports\nUnderstanding of project lifecycle and cost management processes\nStrong Team Collaboration Skills.\nDemonstrated Analytical & Adaptive Thinking.\nDetail-oriented approach, Focused on Quality.\nStrong Verbal & Written Communication Skills.\nAgility & Flexibility in a Dynamic Environment.\nInnovative Problem-Solving Skills.\nAdvanced skills in reporting tool (particularly Excel and Power BI).\nResults oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.\nCommitment to working in a team environment.\nReason for Vacancy: Replacement\nThe expected pay range for this role is $99,000 - $149,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
