If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nAECON Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to carry out equipment dismantling of Units 2 and 3 of the Pickering Nuclear Power Plant. The project involves removing the non-nuclear equipment and components from the Turbine Hall and Turbine Auxiliary Bay. The project consists of several phases: Planning, Execution and Closeout.\nThe Sr. Planner will support the project team in monitoring and controlling the EPCM planning and scheduling, cost control, estimating and change management of the project. The primary role will focus on planning and scheduling.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nPrepare, manage and monitor project schedules.\nAct in a support role to Project Management for establishing baselines, critical path analysis and forecasting while ensuring compliance with industry best practices.\nAssist with coordinating the activities of project controls staff, including cost, schedule and estimating, in the performance of their assigned tasks as outlined in the project procedures and work instructions.\nAssume responsibility for assessing the accuracy of all reports and project deliverables.\nAssist in the development and presentation of project controls procedures to clients.\nSupervise the work of the planning and scheduling staff in their duties.\nDevelop and maintain complex construction and engineering resource-loaded schedules in compliance with customer scheduling standards and protocols as specified in the contract.\nDevelop and maintain the basis of schedule documenting all assumptions and parameters underpinning the baseline schedule.\nDevelop rapport with other functions within the company.\nParticipate in quarterly forecasts, annual business plans and budgets for the project.\nParticipate in gathering the schedule information needed for claims and change requests.\nParticipate in the creation of reporting systems to meet customer requirements.\nAssist in project setup, casting baseline budgets and setting up rules of credit to support earned value management; ensure WBS and CBS alignment.\nLiaise with Construction on scheduling and sequencing, assist in determining schedule priorities and support constructability reviews.\nProactively identify schedule variances and logic gaps; facilitate the development of recovery plans and other remedial action plans.\nRegularly perform critical path analysis to flag delays and identify near-critical paths and parallel paths within the schedule.\nMaintain detailed baseline or schedule change logs to ensure the integrity of the performance measurement baseline.\nSupport the change management process by analyzing trends and schedule impact assessments.\nVerify the accuracy of all planning and scheduling information, including confirmation that schedules have been properly coded and verified and that variances to the baseline have been addressed.\nReview and evaluate trends and their impact on project schedules.\nSupport the change management process and registers.\nAssess progress measurement and develop and update progress curves for progress reporting.\nAssist in monitoring staff performance and quality of work by providing coaching, mentoring and training to project team members.\nMonitor project resource requirements and assist with delegating shift assignments accordingly.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nMinimum 10 years of planning and scheduling experience.\nKnowledge of Primavera P6 and other project scheduling tools.\nExperience in an EPC environment is preferred.\nAdvanced knowledge and experience in Primavera Project Manager.\nAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.\nResults-oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.\nPeople-oriented with an ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and clients.\nA strong leader who can motivate and engage a team, with demonstrated strength in leading highly complex groups.\nAn excellent written and verbal communicator with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills.\nCommitment to working in a team environment.\nReason for Vacancy: New\nThe expected pay range for this role is $121,000 - $171,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
