If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nThe Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager reports to the Director, EHS, and is responsible for providing health and safety advice and assistance to the projects Line Supervisors. The EHS Manager will audit the Project EHS Programs and work with the line organization to develop corrective actions with the goal of continuously improving health and safety in the workplace.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nAssist and support with the development of site-specific safety training and orientation of workers, supervisors, staff, subcontractors, and clients.\nReview project plans and project sites before work commences, identifying safety-related risks.\nLiaise with external parties such as regulatory agencies, government inspectors, sub-contractors, and general public.\nWork with senior management to continuously improve their Health and Safety Programs.\nRepresent the Company at meetings with stakeholders and other organizations on issues regarding workplace health and safety matters.\nSupport project specific conventional safety and environmental management plans and procedures including inspections, audits, observation and coaching, Worker Trades Committee and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).\nMentor project staff in the requirements of conventional safety procedures.\nTrack and report safety-related statistics.\nSupport the management of Return to Work and Modified duties cases at the field level.\nSupport Human Performance Program activities.\nAssist in development of EHS supporting documents.\nWalkdown jobsite and ensure controls are in place as per plan. Review and audit applicable EHS documentation.\nReport all accidents, incidents (conventional or radiological safety), near misses, unsafe conditions, and behaviors to leadership.\nAssist Line Supervisors in accidents, incidents, near-miss investigations and ensure all documentation is completed and distributed, as required.\nPost and maintain Safety bulletins, posters, distribution of safety material, supplies and equipment.\nDevelop and deliver presentations to workers, sub-contractors, and clients.\nResponsible for the day-to-day administration and management of Environmental Health and Safety.\nPerform inspections and audits; formal and informal.\nImmediately stop work activity when unsafe acts or conditions exist and immediately inform site management.\nMaintain files of safety related paperwork as per Company and regulatory requirements.\nEnsure that corrective actions have been taken whenever safety deficiencies have been identified.\nParticipate in daily toolbox and weekly safety meetings.\nMentor and coach craft and supervision in the field with regard to safety roles and responsibilities and compliance with safety standards. Critical Control Verifications (CCVS) and safety observations.\nAdditional detailed requirements as outlined in the Project Specific EHS and EHS management plan.\nMaintain pre-qualification database(s) for Clientele. i.e., ISNET World, AVETTA etc.\nSupport proposal development, as required.\nMaintain and update EHS Program Procedures, as required.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nMinimum 5 years’ experience coordinating and managing health and safety for construction projects.\nPrevious experience in a leadership role required.\nHighly self-motivated team player with a participative management style and strong interpersonal skills.\nAbility to identify training gaps; generate effective solutions; and provide recommendations for improvement.\nA Team Player that accepts and can manage change regularly. Knowledge of Construction projects with a solid understanding of the Occupation Health and Safety Act, and other relevant OSHA regulations and legislations required.\nRelevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety field.\nKnowledge of applicable Health and Safety Acts and Regulations considered an asset.\nUnderstanding of OSHA 1904 Recordkeeping, Case Management, Workers Compensation Insurance requirements, and return to work program.\nIntermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).\nAbility to communicate with tact and diplomacy, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.\nExceptional organizational and time management skills.\nExcellent meeting and training facilitation.\nAdaptable and flexible to an ever-changing environment.\nExperience working in a unionized or non-unionized environment.\nIncident Investigation training/experience considered an asset.\nSpeaking in front of/to (large) work groups.\nMust be able to obtain clearance and a badge for US Nuclear Power Plants and/or Department of Energy facilities.\nMust pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.\nCitizenship Requirement:\nThis position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations.
