Renowned for its expertise in heavy civil construction, our Civil East sector specializes in building essential infrastructure that powers economies and enhances communities.\nIn the Caribbean region, we are leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to deliver world-class infrastructure projects tailored to meet the unique needs of the island communities.\nWe are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Telehandler Operator. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Telehandler Operator is responsible for operating a telehandler to safely lift, transport, position and place construction materials, tools and equipment throughout the site. The role includes completing pre-operational inspections, assessing travel routes and ground conditions, verifying load weights and equipment capacity, using approved attachments, coordinating movements with designated spotters and maintaining clear communication with site personnel. The operator will also report defects, follow lift plans and exclusion-zone requirements, and assist with general site duties when the equipment is not in operation. This role will be based in Barbados.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nOperate various equipment including but not restricted to, forklift, telehandlers, and loaders according to project requirements\nMove materials, debris, and equipment around the construction site efficiently and safely.\nPerform routine inspections and maintenance on assigned machine to ensure equipment is in good working condition\nAdhere to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries. Adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.\nCommunicating with site managers and supervisors about schedules, delays, and potential issues.\nOther labour duties as required.\nDrive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nValid Class Licence\nTelehandler certification is preferred\n5+ years’ experience working as an Equipment Operator, specifically Telehandler.\nFamiliar with aggregates and the construction industry an asset.\nAdaptable to work a flexible work schedule when required.\nSelf-motivated with good organizational skills.\nAbility to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.\nMust be a team player.\nBe a champion of inclusion and diversity.\nAecon fosters belonging within and across our organization.
