If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nUnder the general direction of the Fabrication Manager, the Production Supervisor will assist in the supervision, coordination and scheduling of fabrication activities on the shop floor in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate and ensures all the work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nMaintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public\nResponsible to ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies\nImplement Joint Venture and Client policies and project procedures as required\nAssist in developing, monitoring and updating of project schedule with the Fabrication Manager. Ensure subcontractors comply with project master schedule\nUtilize project master schedule to help create detailed look ahead schedules with the supervisors and subcontractors\nAssist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy\nPlan, supervise and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of fabrication, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals and work schedules\nAssume responsibility for productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project\nEnsure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements\nEnsure fabrication projects are complete in compliance with drawings, specifications, travelers, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project schedule and budget\nInterface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc.\nEnsure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines\nMaintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, traveler documents, etc.\nParticipate in layout and preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc.\nStand in as nominated delegate for Fabrication Manager when required\nDirect General Forepersons, Forepersons, hourly trades and subcontractors in the execution of their assigned duties\nMaintain discipline and implement procedures where necessary\nWork closely with EHS teams to enforce project-specific safety programs and maintain Aecon’s strong safety culture\nCoordinate subcontractors, union trades, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of work\nLead troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to fabrication(s), system integrity, and constructability challenges\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nEducation to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience\nMinimum 5 years of metal fabrication/ manufacturing and subcontractor supervision experience in a unionized environment\nAbility to successfully supervise metal fabrication shop floor\nKnowledge of all aspects of metal fabrication such as; technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements\nGood communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential\nBasic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook\nAbility to read and understand Cost Reports\nBasic presentation skills\nLeadership experience. This is a vital role in the organization and leading of the project plans\nReason for Vacancy: New\nThe expected pay range for this role is $130,000 - $170,000 per year.\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
