We’re always searching the globe for innovative, collaborative minds to join our best-in-class Aecon community!\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nAs part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.\nReporting to the Project Accounting Supervisor, the Project Accountant will ensure proper billing, tracking, analysis, and forecasting of project costs and provide job costing information to project management.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nWork with Project or Operations Management team to identify and forecast financial exposures; \nWork with project staff along with accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, estimating and Business Unit finance department to prepare financial reports; \nReview cost reports to verify that budgets, planned and actual costs, Estimated Costs at Completion (ECAC), contracts and subcontracts have all been properly tracked \nReview all standard costs and reconcile/analyze monthly variances\nTrack, monitor, and analyze productivity data\nParticipate in the preparation of quarterly forecasts/ annual Business Plans/ Budgets for the project\nPrepare and enter month end entries such as subcontract accruals and cost transfers\nReview and issue monthly project cost reports that include forecasted costs and total monthly variance to plan; \nWork closely with Project Manager in preparing monthly progress invoices to Owner/Consultant for work performed during the month; \nPerform activities to support ensuring contract is fully invoiced, complete with associated contract documentation\nMain point of contact for client audits\nMonitor and analyze subcontract costs\nEnter client billings into the applicable system\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting\nExperience & Designation based on level\n3+ years of experience, pursuing CPA designation or equivalent is valued\nExperience in construction or related industry is preferred\nExperience with SAP, BPC and Business Objects is valued\nProgressive experience that indicates strong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to influence without specific authority\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to balance and prioritize multiple priorities in a dynamic environment\nStrong ability to think creatively, challenge the status quo, deal with ambiguity\nHistory of strong personal performance and value add to the business\nDemonstrated success working with internal/ external stakeholders\nStrong financial acumen and relevant financial skills, including quantitative problem solving\nBroad business knowledge, end-to-end thinking, and organizational awareness\nReason for vacancy: Replacement\nPay Range: $70,000 - $80,000\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
