If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nFrom fabrication and modularization to new builds, turnaround and maintenance, Aecon Industrial leads the way in industrial construction and water infrastructure, providing clients in Canada and the U.S. with vertically integrated solutions and exceptional self-perform work.\nAecon Industrial is supporting the delivery of a major natural gas-fired combined cycle facility project in Sturgeon County, Alberta, and we are currently looking for a Project Coordinator to join the team.\nReporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution of the project by assisting with cost tracking, productivity analysis, change management and reporting. The role involves working closely with the field team, engineering, subcontractors, and the owner to accurately track costs, support forecasting, identify potential risks, and help ensure the project remains aligned with schedule and cost objectives.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nProject Controls Systems & Tools\nSupport the implementation and day-to-day use of project controls systems, ensuring data is entered accurately and consistently.\nAssist the project team in using project controls tools for cost tracking, progress measurement, and reporting.\nProject Setup\nAssist with project setup activities, including WBS structure, cost coding, and cost loading.\nSupport alignment between the estimate, cost structure, and schedule to ensure a clean baseline.\nAssist in ensuring all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout.\nScheduling Support\nWork with the project team to provide accurate field updates for the schedule, including progress, quantities, and sequencing.\nHelp ensure scope changes and current site conditions are reflected in the schedule.\nProgress & Cost Tracking\nTrack and enter project progress, quantities, labour hours, and costs in coordination with site teams.\nHelp ensure labour, equipment, and materials are coded correctly to the appropriate cost accounts.\nPrepare project reports, including progress, productivity, and cost performance updates.\nSupport the team in identifying basic variances between planned and actual performance.\nSupport in the development and updating of the cost forecast.\nScope, Change & Claims Support\nAssist in gathering and organizing supporting documentation for change notices and change requests.\nHelp track and log potential and approved changes to ensure they are captured in project records.\nRisk & Reporting\nSupport updates to the project risk register by gathering inputs from the project team.\nAssist in compiling required weekly and monthly reports for internal and client use.\nTeam & Collaboration\nWork closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely information flow.\nSupport coordination between the field and home office project controls team.\nContribute to maintaining accurate and well-organized project records.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nDiploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\n1-3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or project controls.\nPost-secondary education in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.\nFamiliarity with project schedules, cost tracking, and reporting is an asset.\nStrong attention to detail and willingness to learn.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced field environment and supporting site operations.\nProficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP, Primavera, or similar tools is an asset.\nMust be able to travel to projects.\nAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
