If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nReporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will provide field-engineering information to the project management team and sub-trades to ensure construction works comply with all the design drawings, engineering, standards, codes, and specifications. This is a site based role and will work out of our project office in Calgary, AB.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nMeets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm all materials, equipment and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.\nCollects, coordinates and analysis shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.\nProvides technical input for project work plan and scheduling. Identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.\nEvaluates daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance. Documents daily activities in Company approved methods and technologies.\nNotifies team members and manager of any significant schedule changes and recommends solutions for management consideration.\nPerform additional assignments per management’s direction.\nRemits accurate project quantity input and controls using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported. Manages cost coding with Company finance and accounting teams regarding employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.\nReviews project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work and after work completes. Initiates and manages appropriate certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction production on the project site.\nWorks with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout on the project site, ensuring appropriate utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins. Initiates and manages any permits needed before work can begin.\nCoordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed.\nReconciles job close-out checklist with owner representative and field crews at the end of the project.\nPerforms other duties and responsibilities as required.\nDrive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nPost-secondary school education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management disciplines; or acceptable combination of education and previous experience.\nA minimum of 2-4 years working as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, ideally in project engineering or heavy civil construction environment would be an asset.\nExperience with earthworks, grading, underground utility work, paving, concrete works, or relevant construction an asset.\nKnowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project.\nPrevious experience with Alberta Transportation or City of Calgary Projects an asset.\nProficient in software related to the construction industry (e.g., Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, SAP etc.).\nExcellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).\nExcellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral.\nFlexibility to work in both field and office, and willingness to work night shift (if required).\nBe a champion of inclusion and diversity.\nAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
