Aecon supports clients with expert project management to the most exacting standards.\nWorking with our joint venture partner Atkins Realis, Aecon Nuclear has been awarded the definition phase contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to assist in planning the Pickering Retube, Feeder and Boiler replacement (RFBR) project. This project involves the refurbishment of four reactors and replacement of the forty eight steam generators at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.\nThe Project Coordinator directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering and construction requirements within the scope of a specified project.\nThe Project Coordinator, reporting directly to the Project Manager, will play a key role in providing leadership in managing/supervising construction projects by assisting in the project management and coordination of schedules, manpower, customer relations, engineering, and procurement. Risk analysis, project forecasting, liaising with EPC and subcontractors are daily occurrences in these positions.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nLead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external, cross-JV and client-facing interactions. Create the context that promotes this and other values that are required to make the project successful.\nDemonstrates strong nuclear safety culture. Maintains such a culture using event free tools and technical conscience. Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.\nSupport the Project Manager in creating and sharing the vision of project success with the team.\nPlans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements.\nDevelops and maintains the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the project.\nProvides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedules.\nControls expenditures within limitations of project budget.\nIdentifies project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate trades and subcontractors.\nMaintains meeting minutes.\nIdentifies risks to Risk Manager and identifies actions for entering the action tracking log.\nCoordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.\nReviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.\nCoordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.\nInterfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensures customer needs are met.\nProvides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.\nAssists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.\nWrites and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents.\nActive involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures\nTracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.\nProvide frequent, informal performance feedback to SGR team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy. Endeavor the feedback to be in person wherever possible.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nTechnical (Engineering or Engineering Technology) education.\n5+ years of engineering and/or construction project experience.\nProficient written (report writing) communication skills.\nKnowledge of SharePoint applications an asset.\nStrong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.\nPreference will be given to those with nuclear outage planning experience.\nReason for vacancy: New\nThe expected pay range for this role is $74,000 - $90,000 per year\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
