In the Caribbean region, we are leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to deliver world-class infrastructure projects tailored to meet the unique needs of the island communities.\nWe are looking for Project Engineer, Intern. At Aecon International, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to streamline project costs and mitigate risks, all while maintaining high standards of quality and adhering to building regulations. This opportunity is available for a work term of up to 12 months.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nAssists in the efficient scheduling of various work crews as required.\nPerforms site previews and inspections as required in preparation for locate requests.\nAssists in inventory management, control and related systems development.\nCoordinates and procures specialty materials and tooling.\nAssists in small specialty tool inventory management, control, maintenance, and certification.\nReviews and summarizes weekly equipment utilization reports and corrects misallocations.\nDevelop an understanding of budgets, cost reports, and revenue forecasts at the project level.\nAssist more senior engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data, and adherence to prescribed testing, analysis, design, or computation methods.\nAssist in designs, procurement, scheduling, production, transporting, installation, testing, and commissioning of complex equipment.\nAssist in controlling expenditures on projects. Help prepare and update engineering control documents.\nAssist with bids and proposals for new work.\nParticipate in basic layout and field engineering activities.\nMaintain field logs.\nInterpret design drawings for sub-trades installing material and equipment.\nPresent design discrepancies to design consultants for resolution, prepare documentation, field design change requests, etc., as required.\nHelp prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nCurrently enrolled in a degree programme in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical).\nAbility to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.\nKnowledge of contract language, terms and conditions, bonding, etc.\nKnowledge of job cost fundamentals and basic accounting/reporting principles is an asset.\nSelf-motivated with excellent organizational skills.\nExcellent communication skills, both oral and written.\nAbility to work accurately and effectively under pressure.\nCapability to work both independently and within a team environment.\nValid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.\nAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
