If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nReporting to the Finance Manager, the Sr. Accountant will be responsible for the financial and administration including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and day-to-day transactions to ensure that the financial objectives are met and accounting procedures are carried out.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nOversight of finance activities within a business unit or functional area, this could include financial reporting, budgeting, taxation.\nConsolidation of joint arrangements for financial statement preparation.\nWork effectively with, influence and support projects teams, joint arrangements & JV Partners.\nEnsure SAP transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis, with appropriate backup and documentation.\nComplete monthly bank reconciliations, coordinating with Aecon business units and Shared Services to remedy variances.\nAssist with the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, elimination entries, recurring entries and accruals.\nImplement & manage internal control procedures.\nCoordinate & manage internal and external audits.\nDevelop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts in concert with the respective business partners.\nInvestigate / analyze departmental variances from budgets/forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis - working closely with business partners.\nInvolved in supporting accounting research to provide recommendations, ensuring the Company complies with all areas of IFRS and in accordance with established Aecon policies and procedures.\nEnhance the applicable finance processes and support process improvement initiatives to achieve financial goals and improve efficiency and profitability.\nBuild a strong network across various teams to handle a wide range of analytical and operational issues.\nSupport preparation of financial presentations & analyses for the leadership team.\nSupport preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis (including “what-if” scenario analysis) as required to support business partners.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\n5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in infrastructure, construction, energy, concessions industries.\nBachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting. CPA designation required.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.\nSAP experience is an asset.\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint).\nStrong knowledge of IFRS and percentage of completion accounting.\nStrong planning and organizational skills.\nExcellent communication skills (both written and oral).\nCross-border experience is an asset\nMust be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment within a small team.\nReason for vacancy: New\nThe expected salary range for this role is $80,000-$95,000 per year\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
