If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nAs part of an alliance agreement, Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023, Aecon will support the validation phase, design, procurement, early site preparation, and site mobilization scope for the construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.\nReporting to the Sr. Manager, Project Controls, the Senior Scheduler will be responsible for supporting project controls to Aecon’s ongoing mega-projects in the Nuclear sector.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nAssist in project set-up activities, including establishing the WBS and all control accounts, reconciling bids to awards, and setting the cost and schedule baseline.\nParticipate in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure continuity between project estimates and baselines.\nParticipate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings.\nLiaise with external groups (Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Construction, etc.) to gain inputs into Project Controls reports.\nCreate and maintain project status update reports, forecast reports and project dashboards; ensure timely issuance to internal and external stakeholders (per client requirements).\nCreate and maintain customized reports or dashboards to adapt to evolving risks and project needs.\nDevelop and maintain resource plans, ensuring cost and schedule alignment.\nRegularly conduct variance analysis to understand trends and other baseline deviations in support of rigorous change management; provide variance narratives and propose corrective actions or recovery plans.\nAssist in monitoring project health and performance; ensure key performance metrics are well articulated to project leadership.\nRegularly conduct detailed analysis on project performance key metrics (e.g. CPI, SPI, key commodity tracking, etc.); propose corrective actions to maintain performance/productivity; provide timely feedback to project leadership on adverse trends.\nPrepare Earned Value Management KPIs to assess project performance.\nAssist in the creation and maintenance of tools and templates that ensure compliance with the processes outlined in the Project Controls Plan and contract requirements.\nSupport the development of project-specific Project Controls plans and the development of tools and templates.\nDevelop and maintain a change log to track all internal and external changes and monitor progress through the change management process.\nReview the contract to ensure compliance with contract conditions regarding reporting, change management, and all other Project Controls areas.\nProvide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.\nProvide subject-matter expertise to the project team on any customised reporting tools and dashboards.\nDevelop and maintain complex construction and engineering resource-loaded schedules in compliance with customer scheduling standards/protocols as specified in the contract.\nDevelop and maintain a basis of schedule documenting all assumptions and parameters underpinning the baseline schedule.\nDevelop fragnets to be carried out throughout the project lifecycle, across the different phases for use on similar scopes.\nLead meetings focused on assessing schedule progress, obtaining schedule updates and general schedule coordination.\nCreate lookahead reports, resource profiles and other customized P6 reports.\nAssist in project set-up, casting baseline budgets, and setting up rules of credit to support earned value management; ensure WBS and CBS alignment.\nLiaise with Construction on scheduling sequencing, assist in determining schedule priorities, and support constructability reviews.\nProactively identify schedule variances, logic gaps, etc.; facilitate the development of recovery plans and other remedial action plans.\nEnter daily/weekly progress into the schedule and provide progress status reports.\nMaintain detailed baseline or schedule change logs to ensure integrity of the performance measurement baseline.\nRegularly perform critical path analysis to flag delays and identify near-critical paths and parallel paths within the schedule.\nRegularly perform schedule quality analysis utilizing assessment tools (e.g. Acumen Fuse).\nPerform regular field tours to validate progress.\nAssist in the development of a project-specific Schedule Management Plan for incorporation into the Project Controls Plan.\nEnsure schedule quality by addressing deficiencies from schedule quality analysis.\nSupport the change management process by analyzing trends and schedule impact assessments.\nSupport the risk management process by providing inputs into schedule risk analysis modelling.\nMaintain baselines with approved changes, ensuring contractual alignment.\nIdentify and lead rebaseline efforts when required.\nManage the integration of subcontractor schedules (if applicable); Those with a valid OPG security clearance are strongly preferred.\nThe expected pay range for this role is $99,000 - $149,000 per year.\nReason: Replacement\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
