If you’re inspired to make a difference through future-building projects, join our best-in-class team.\nWhat is the Opportunity?\nWorking with the DNNP Training Team, the Lead, Technical Training is accountable for the day-to-day success of assigned technical training on the project, including the development, coordination, implementation support, and continuous improvement of the training.\nThis role provides technical and instructional leadership for the DNNP Technical Training program while ensuring the training is aligned with project requirements, stakeholder expectations, and field execution needs. The Lead, Technical Training works with the Learning Experience Designer to ensure the application of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to translate scope requirements, lessons learned, and stakeholder inputs into structured and effective training that support workforce readiness.\nThe Lead, Technical Training provides observation and coaching, and technical guidance to support consistent, high-quality execution across Technical Training.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nPartner with the training analyst and learning experience designer across all bundle training scopes, including training needs assessment, analysis, design, development, implementation support, and evaluation activities.\nPartner with Construction, Quality, Engineering, and other stakeholders to identify scope requirements, risks, gaps, and assess learning needs for technical role-based tasks, special processes, and gaps identified through the corrective action program.\nLead the development, review, and refinement of training materials and program content.\nEnsure training materials are technically accurate, instructionally sound, and aligned with field execution requirements.\nThrough integration with bundle teams and key stakeholders, establish milestones, priorities, and readiness requirements for all bundle training scopes and report progress regularly.\nMaintain and monitor schedules and resource plans for all bundle training scopes, including labour, materials, mock-ups, and facilities, ensuring alignment with project cost controls, schedule milestones, and workforce readiness requirements.\nSupport training logistics including coordination of labour, materials, mock-ups, and equipment.\nSupport alignment of training plans with budget constraints and resource availability.\nEnsure training records, curricula, and outputs are maintained within Aecon University (AU) and support audit readiness.\nSupport cross-functional collaboration and meeting attendance with Construction, Quality, Engineering, and other stakeholders.\nMonitor training implementation and field alignment, ensuring issues and gaps are identified and addressed.\nDrive continuous improvement through lessons learned (OPEX), evaluation results, and stakeholder feedback, and incorporate findings into the training program.\nDevelop practical solutions to training challenges using technical knowledge, collaboration, and sound judgement.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nProvide observation, coaching, mentorship, and support to project management team members throughout their learning and development.\nProvide classroom management oversight for SME deliveries and when facilitating content.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nEducation\nUndergraduate degree in Engineering, a technical diploma, or equivalent experience.\nExperience\nExperience in construction or coordination environments is considered an asset.\nSignificant experience in the nuclear industry is considered an asset.\nKnowledge and Skills\nKnowledge of construction industry practices, including safety, quality, work planning, and project controls.\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).\nExperience with Canva is considered an asset.\nStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong understanding of adult learning principles is considered an asset.\nStrong knowledge of SAT and ADDIE is considered an asset.\nFiscal Responsibility\nFiscal responsibility as required by the project.\nExtent of Public Contact\nCustomers, suppliers, and alliance partners.\nProject managers and project personnel.\nTrades personnel and union business agents.\nPhysical Demands\nVarious work locations in both the field and the office.\nTravel as necessary.\nOther Qualifications\nDue to the nature of work conducted, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment.\nOur background check process includes a full security check and clearance process, as well as reference checks.
