Through our work in the nuclear, conventional generation, renewable and power delivery markets, we create resilient infrastructure to last generations.\nWe at Aecon Engineering Service Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aecon Group Inc., are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our Materials Engineering Laboratory in Milford, MA. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in machining, testing, laboratory maintenance and/or in failure analysis, materials aging and selection, welding, fabrication, and corrosion. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team on a wide range of technical projects. Experience in the Nuclear Power and/or Medical Device industries is a strong plus.\nWhat You'll Do Here:\nProvide machining and technical support on a wide range of projects and assignments in a materials laboratory environment.\nReceive, label, and safely store specimens to be tested.\nDesign, machine, and build test fixtures.\nPerform tests in support of analysis and provide input to technical reports.\nClean and maintain laboratory equipment and laboratory space, including calibration of equipment.\nStay current on laboratory technical and scientific advances.\nBe a hands-on individual, fully involved in projects, including challenging materials problems.\nWork with other disciplines, team members, and departments to provide integrated solutions.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nMinimum Qualifications\nAssociate degree in Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is required.\nMinimum of 5 years of related engineering experience, preferably with laboratory experience, is required.\nWillingness to work with low-level radioactively contaminated components.\nAdditional Qualifications\nTechnical background with an understanding of materials performance and degradation.\nKnowledge of failure mechanisms and mechanical properties of materials.\nAbility to multitask, take on challenging projects, and provide solutions.\nEffective communication skills.\nUnderstands the importance of business development.\nThis is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about an engineering career, who wants to continue to grow, develop, and work for a well-established organization.\nSalary Range & Benefits\nPay Range: $50,000 - $90,000 per year\nIndividual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
