We continue to be the trusted choice of market leaders for our proven ability to generate value and unlock opportunities that were previously unattainable.\nThe Deputy Controller is a finance leader responsible for supporting all aspects of the company's accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions, reporting to the VP of Finance (who reports to the CEO). This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, and drives the development of scalable processes and systems to support growth. The Deputy Controller will partner closely with the VP of Finance and cross-functional teams to maintain strong internal controls, compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and operational excellence in global accounting.\nThis position is based out of our Mountain View office on a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office weekly). We are currently evaluating candidates who reside locally.\nResponsibities:\nLead corporate accounting functions - general ledger, consolidations, financial close, payroll, tax, AP/AR, and treasury - ensuring timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nOwn revenue recognition policy and execution under ASC 606 for subscription and usage-based arrangements, including multi-element contracts and deferred revenue\nEstablish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, policies, and procedures, and support internal/external financial reporting including audits, board materials, regulatory filings, and fundraising due diligence.\nPartner with FP&A and Legal to ensure financial alignment and manage multi-entity, multi-state, and international tax compliance as the company scales globally.\nDrive ownership and improvement of financial systems, process automation, and finance AI tooling - including implementing LLM-based billing - to support scalability and efficiency.\nOwn stock-based compensation accounting and cap table reconciliation with Legal and People.\nLead and develop a high-performing accounting team, and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.\nAbout you:\nStrong technical accounting experience, including meaningful revenue recognition experience within enterprise software, SaaS, consumption-based revenue, and professional services, as well as stock-based comp. \n7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience\nProven experience leading accounting in a complex, multinational organization.\nStrong background in financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and audit.\nDemonstrated success in driving systems implementation and process improvements.\nBig 4 experience and CPA strongly preferred.\nExceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3466,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":7,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Business Process Automation (BPA)","Decision Intelligence","Supply Chain AI"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-22T23:33:00Z"}],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":46,"reasons":["conf:0","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":265000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/aera-technology-deputy-controller-accounting","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/aera-technology-deputy-controller-accounting.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-23T20:07:41Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
