You will serve as the primary technical counterpart to automotive OEM engineering and IT teams, translating Aeris platform capabilities into compelling, architecturally sound solutions that address OEM connectivity challenges.\nThis is not a traditional pre-sales engineering role. You will operate as a technical strategist - shaping how Aeris engages with OEMs, influencing product direction, creating differentiated technical narratives, and building the technical foundation for long-term OEM partnerships.\nYou will work across two Aeris business units (Automotive Business Unit and IoT Business Unit), requiring fluency in multiple platform architectures and the ability to compose cross-platform solutions.\nThe role is based in Bucharest and follows ahybrid model: 2 days/week in the office and 3 days WFH.\nLocation: The Bridge 3, Sector 6, Bucharest.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Sales Engagement\nServe as the lead technical resource in OEM pre-sales engagements, RFI/RFP responses, solution presentations, and architecture workshops\nDesign and present solution architectures that map Aeris capabilities to OEM connectivity requirements\nDevelop and deliver compelling technical demonstrations, proofs of concept, and pilot designs\nEngage directly with OEM technical stakeholders including connectivity architects, telematics engineers, platform engineering leads, cybersecurity teams, and procurement\nSolution Architecture & Design\nArchitect end-to-end connected vehicle solutions spanning connectivity management, eSIM lifecycle management (SGP.22/SGP.32), device management, data ingestion, and vehicle operations\nDesign integration architectures connecting Aeris platforms (AMP, Neo, Watchtower) with OEM backend systems, TSPs, MNOs, and cloud environments\nDefine and document technical solution proposals, integration specifications, and architecture decision records\nEvaluate and recommend approaches for multi-MNO strategies, regional connectivity models, and roaming optimization\nProduct Strategy Support\nTranslate OEM technical requirements and competitive gaps into structured product requirements and recommendations\nCollaborate with Product Management to prioritize automotive-specific platform enhancements\nMaintain a living competitive technical analysis covering key competitors (Harman Ignite, Ericsson, Cisco/Kigen, G+D, Thales, etc.)\nIdentify emerging technology trends (SDV, vehicle-to-cloud, Android Automotive, zonal architectures) and assess implications for Aeris product strategy\nKnowledge Development & Enablement\nDevelop and maintain a technical knowledge base for Automotive Connectivity including solution architectures, reference designs, integration patterns, competitive comparisons, and technical FAQ\nCreate reusable technical assets: solution briefs, architecture diagrams, demo scripts, white papers, and technical blog content\nEnable broader Sales and Sales Engineering teams on automotive connectivity concepts, Aeris differentiators, and OEM engagement best practices\nDocument OEM-specific technical landscapes, integration requirements, and architecture preferences\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Service Delivery and Professional Services teams to ensure solution designs are implementable and supportable\nPartner with the Automotive Connectivity Strategy Lead to align technical positioning with business strategy\nSupport Marketing with technically grounded content for thought leadership, analyst engagements, and conference presentations\nParticipate in industry standards discussions and working groups as appropriate (GSMA, 5GAA, etc.)\nRequirements\nExperience\n8+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, systems engineering, or technical consulting\n3+ years working in or with the automotive industry - specifically connected vehicles, telematics, V2X, or automotive connectivity\nDirect experience with eSIM technologies (SGP.02, SGP.22, SGP.32) - architecture, provisioning flows, and ecosystem participants (SM-DP+, SM-DS, eIM, ECS, LPA)\nExperience with connectivity management platforms and/or IoT platform architectures\nDemonstrated experience engaging with enterprise or OEM technical stakeholders at the architecture and engineering level\nExperience with MNO ecosystems, MVNO models, roaming, and multi-carrier connectivity strategies\nTechnical Skills\nStrong understanding of cellular technologies (4G/LTE, 5G NR, network slicing, private networks)\nProficiency in cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including API design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines\nFamiliarity with vehicle electrical/electronic architectures - TCUs, head units, gateways, zonal controllers\nWorking knowledge of automotive protocols and standards (MQTT, SOME/IP, UDS, OBD, CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet)\nUnderstanding of cybersecurity frameworks relevant to automotive (ISO 21434, UNECE WP.29 R155/R156)\nExperience with data analytics, observability, or AIOps concepts (relevant to Watchtower positioning)\nSoft Skills\nExceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering and business audiences\nStrong written communication -
