We combine technology, operational excellence, and compassionate expertise to deliver essential products and care directly to patients’ homes. At Aeroflow Health, we make healthcare accessible by taking a holistic approach to how we care for our patients.\nWe are equally passionate about taking care of our employees. Recognized as one of the fastest-growing healthcare companies in the U.S., an Inc. 5000 honoree, and a certified Great Place to Work®, Aeroflow continues to seek ways they can be one of the nation’s top employers. As we continue to grow, we remain committed to building an exceptional workplace where talented professionals are empowered, supported, and inspired to make a meaningful impact every day.\nThe Opportunity\nAeroflow’s Internal Applications organization includes approximately 25 engineers supporting more than 40 internal products across the business. As we modernize these applications and expand the team’s full-stack engineering capabilities, we are seeking an Internal Applications Engineering Manager to lead a team of approximately eight engineers.\nThis team is at an important point in its evolution. Many of its engineers have historically specialized in VBA and Microsoft Access development and are actively transitioning into modern full-stack application development. At the same time, Aeroflow is modernizing legacy Access applications into web-based platforms that can better support our employees and growing business.\nThe Internal Applications Engineering Manager will lead that transition from both a people and technical leadership perspective -developing engineers with varying levels of full-stack experience, creating accountability around delivery and quality, removing roadblocks, and helping the team mature into an increasingly autonomous engineering organization.\nThis is not primarily a hands-on coding role. We expect this leader to maintain enough technical depth to coach engineers, guide technical decisions, and participate credibly in architecture discussions while spending the majority of their time leading people, developing talent, and ensuring the team delivers high-quality software.\nYour Primary Responsibilities\nWe are currently seeking an Internal Applications Engineering Manager responsible for leading approximately eight engineers within our Internal Applications organization.\nLead & Develop the Engineering Team\nLead, coach, and develop engineers with varying levels of full-stack experience.\nConduct regular 1:1s, establish development goals, provide timely and constructive feedback, and manage performance.\nBuild individualized development paths that help engineers expand their technical capabilities and increase their autonomy.\nRecognize strengths and skill gaps across the team and intentionally connect engineers who can learn from and develop one another.\nCreate an environment of high trust, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.\nRemove roadblocks and ensure engineers have the resources, context, and support necessary to succeed.\nOwn Engineering Delivery\nPartner with project and product management on roadmap priorities, work readiness, sequencing, dependencies, and stakeholder communication. \nOwn the engineering team’s execution, capacity management, technical quality, and delivery accountability.\nIdentify delivery risks and resource constraints early and work across teams to resolve them.\nEnsure work moves across the finish line when and at the quality level the team has committed to deliver.\nProvide Technical Leadership\nMaintain sufficient hands-on technical depth to coach engineers, evaluate technical approaches, and provide meaningful technical direction while keeping direct coding responsibilities generally below 25% of the role.\nProvide guidance across modern full-stack development using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.\nPartner with architecture leadership on application design and technical direction.\nTranslate business requirements into actionable technical work alongside engineering and business stakeholders.\nSupport the modernization of legacy applications into scalable, maintainable web-based platforms.\nPromote and enforce strong engineering practices around architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, reliability, and maintainability.\nPartner Across the Organization\nCollaborate with engineering leadership, architects, project managers, product partners, and business leaders to ensure teams are solving the right problems at the right time.\nTranslate effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nBuild strong working relationships across engineering teams and help resolve cross-team friction constructively.\nBalance immediate delivery needs with longer-term engineering maturity and talent development.\nEmployee has an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.\nCompliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance.\nMaintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality.\nMaintain regular and reliable attendance as assigned by your schedule.\nPerform other job duties as assigned.\nSkills for Success\nCandidates who stand out will demonstrate:\nPeople Leadership: You genuinely enjoy developing engineers and can adapt your coaching approach to individuals at very different stages of their technical growth.\nTechnical Credibility: You can hold meaningful conversations with engineers and architects, challenge technical decisions when appropriate, and provide direction without needing to be the strongest coder in the room.\nTalent Development: You can identify strengths, skill gaps, and development opportunities and turn those observations into meaningful growth.\nDelivery Leadership: You create clarity and accountability around priorities, commitments, quality, and outcomes.\nModernization Mindset: You understand how to evolve legacy systems and engineering capabilities pragmatically while continuing to support the business.\nCross-Functional Influence: You work effectively across engineering, architecture, project management, product, and business teams.\nPragmatic Decision-Making: You can balance engineering quality, business priorities, team capacity, and speed.\nLow-Ego Leadership: You build trust, encourage collaboration, and care more about team outcomes than personal ownership of the solution.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful experience designing and building production full-stack applications.\nDemonstrated experience formally leading software engineers, including coaching, performance feedback, delivery accountability, and resource planning. Direct people-management experience is strongly preferred.\nStrong professional experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js.\nStrong understanding of modern application development in AWS environments.\nAbility to provide technical guidance, evaluate engineering approaches, and participate credibly in architecture and design discussions.\nExperience leading software delivery across competing priorities, dependencies, and resource constraints.\nDemonstrated ability to coach engineers and help individuals grow technically and professionally.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, project managers, product partners, and business stakeholders.\nYou Might Also Have\nNext.js experience.\nExperience modernizing legacy applications or platforms.\nExperience leading engineers through a significant technical transformation or upskilling initiative.\nServerless AWS architecture experience, including Lambda, SNS/SQS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, or CloudFront.\nInfrastructure-as-code experience with Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.\nExperience with CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools and workflows.\nExperience building AI-enabled applications or systems.\nVBA or Microsoft Access experience.\nHealthcare, DME, finance, or insurance experience.\nWhat We Look For\nWe are looking for a people leader with real engineering credibility.\nYou don't need to spend your day writing code to be successful in this role, but you do need enough technical depth to earn the trust of engineers, coach through difficult technical problems, and contribute meaningfully when architectural decisions are being made.\nYou'll inherit a team with different levels of experience in modern full-stack development. During the first several months, you'll play a particularly important role in helping engineers navigate that transition-understanding who needs more support, who needs less, and how to develop the team collectively. As those capabilities mature, your focus will increasingly shift toward the core responsibilities of engineering leadership: developing people, driving accountability and quality, removing roadblocks, and ensuring commitments are delivered.\nYou'll thrive here if you enjoy developing people, creating accountability without micromanaging, simplifying complicated problems, and helping engineering teams become stronger over time.\nOur environment offers meaningful autonomy and the opportunity to influence how an evolving engineering organization works. You'll partner closely with technical and business leaders while leading a team through an important stage of its modernization.\nWhat Aeroflow Offers\nCompetitive Pay, Health Plans with FSA or HSA options, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Optional Life Insurance, 401K with Company Match, 12 weeks of parental leave for birthing parent/ 4 weeks leave for non-birthing parent(s), Additional Parental benefits to include fertility stipends, free diapers, breast pump, Paid Holidays, PTO Accrual from day one, Employee Assistance Programs and SO MUCH MORE!!\nHere at Aeroflow, we are proud of our commitment to all of our employees.
