For more information, visit www.aerovect.com.\nAs our first dedicated internal IT hire, you'll take ownership of the systems, devices, and processes that keep our growing team productive and secure. You'll lead the implementation of company-wide device management, endpoint security, identity and access controls, and IT support processes across a distributed workforce.\nWith a significant engineering population running Ubuntu Linux, we're looking for someone who brings strong technical depth, practical security experience, and the ability to build reliable IT systems from the ground up.\nThis is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership. You'll work closely with Engineering, Operations, and People teams, as well as external IT and security providers, to establish scalable processes without adding unnecessary complexity.\nYou will\nOwn AeroVect's corporate IT infrastructure, including employee laptops, workstations, shared devices, and associated IT systems.\n\nLead the implementation and ongoing management of a company-wide device management platform across Ubuntu Linux, macOS, IpadOS and Windows.\n\nEstablish and maintain endpoint security standards, including disk encryption, patch management, endpoint protection, device monitoring, and recovery procedures.\n\nManage identity and access controls across Google Workspace and other business-critical applications, including MFA, permissions, and secure onboarding/offboarding.\n\nBuild and maintain automated workflows for device provisioning, software deployment, configuration management, and employee lifecycle management.\n\nOwn IT onboarding and offboarding, ensuring employees receive properly configured equipment and appropriate access from day one.\n\nProvide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for employees\n\nManage hardware procurement, inventory, equipment lifecycle, repairs, replacements, and device recovery.\n\nDevelop and maintain practical IT security policies, documentation, incident response procedures, and operational standards.\n\nPartner with Engineering to ensure security controls are compatible with development tools, containers, drivers, and specialized engineering workflows.\n\nCoordinate with external IT and security providers on implementation, escalations, monitoring, and incident response.\n\nSupport employees across multiple countries through remote administration, equipment logistics, and coordination with local service providers.\n\nContinuously identify opportunities to improve security, automate repetitive tasks, and scale IT operations as AeroVect grows.\n\nYou have\n5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, systems administration, corporate IT, or a related technical role.\n\nStrong hands-on experience administering Ubuntu Linux endpoints, including system configuration, troubleshooting, software management, and security.\n\nExperience managing mixed operating system environments, including Linux, macOS, and Windows.\n\nExperience implementing and administering endpoint or mobile device management (MDM) solutions.\n\nStrong working knowledge of Google Workspace administration, identity and access management, MFA, and employee onboarding/offboarding.\n\nExperience implementing endpoint security controls, including disk encryption, patch management, endpoint protection, and recovery processes.\n\nProficiency with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar tools.\n\nExperience independently leading IT infrastructure projects, from initial assessment and tool selection through deployment and ongoing operations.\n\nStrong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, endpoint hardware, networking, and business applications.\n\nAbility to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and take ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.\n\nExcellent communication skills and a service-oriented approach to supporting employees across technical and nontechnical teams.\n\nAbility to work onsite in Atlanta and provide hands-on support for local equipment and employees.\n\nWe Prefer\nExperience as an early IT hire or IT systems owner at a rapidly growing technology or engineering company.\n\nExperience supporting organizations with 100-500 employees and distributed international teams.\n\nFamiliarity with Fleet, JumpCloud, or similar cross-platform device management solutions.\n\nExperience deploying and managing Linux disk encryption, including LUKS and recovery-key management.\n\nExperience with endpoint detection and response (EDR), security monitoring, and incident response coordination.\n\nFamiliarity with CIS Controls, NIST cybersecurity guidance, or similar security frameworks.\n\nExperience working with managed service providers (MSPs) or external security vendors.\n\nFamiliarity with GitOps, infrastructure automation, or configuration management tools such as Ansible.\n\nExperience supporting engineering environments involving Docker, Kubernetes, SSH, and specialized Linux development tools.\n\nExperience establishing IT processes, documentation, and security standards from
