Hands-on experience and expertise inspecting parts, assembling hardware, working in clean rooms, and knowledge of ESD is required. Also requires experience with precision assemblies including PCB, electronics and cabling.\nPosition Responsibilities\nHands-on component and subassembly development and assembly.\nReading and understanding drawings and call outs.\nFollowing assembly procedures and record results and discrepancies (including numerical and graphical data)\nWorking in clean room to assemble hardware\nIncoming inspection and data collection on components\nData verification, collection, and organization (component COC/COA/etc.)\nAbility and willingness to perform moderate physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, bending, continuous standing\nPerforming other various tasks, including, but not limited to: cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, ordering and picking-up supplies\nAssisting engineers and other technicians\nAll other duties as assigned\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)\nAssociates degree and five (5) years of experience as a technician, or high school and seven (7) years of experience as a technician\nDemonstrated experience assembling and testing space and/or flight hardware\nDemonstrated knowledge and experience with ESD fundamentals is required\nDemonstrated ability to accurately read drawings, assembly and test procedures, and other related documentation\nExperience interpreting drawings and requesting parts fabrication by machine shop\nExperience mixing and applying epoxies and adhesives\nDemonstrated experience with different test equipment including TVAC and vibration\nStrong interpersonal skills\nGood written and verbal communication skills\nDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment\nDemonstrated capability as very detail oriented\nSome travel may be required\nPotential for supporting extended work weeks during some phases of assembly, integration and test, as necessary\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD clearance\nOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies\nDemonstrated experience with optical or opto-mechanical systems, highly preferred\nJ-STD-001 Certification with Space Addendum IPC-620 Certification\nIPC-A-610 Certification \nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nAbility to work in an office and manufacturing environment\nFrequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear\nOccasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds\nSpecific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus\n Ability to travel as required\nClearance Level\nNo ClearanceThe salary range for this role is:\n$25 - $38AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.\nITAR Requirement:\nThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
