In this entry level role, one plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.\nPosition Responsibilities\nWorks within a defined software life cycle development process\nSupports the full life-cycle of product including design, coding, debugging, test, deployment and maintenance\nCodes, simulates, integrates and validates software. Writes quality code that is modular, reusable, testable, and scalable. Writes unit tests to test code you've written.\nParticipates in software design reviews\nDelivers work on time according to estimated completion dates and project schedule & budget\nSupports and derives algorithm design from detailed software requirements\nUses JIRA to keep an accurate work log and status of all tasks. Works closely with multiple teams of software developers supporting different programs\nFollows AV's software development process to develop quality code under general supervision\nWorks on problems of limited scope. Operate in a continuous learning environment under moderate supervision\nWorks closely with other engineering disciplines\nOther duties as assigned\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)\nBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience\n0 - 2 years of relevant experience in Windows or Linux application software development. Object Oriented Design experience a must; Qt experience is a plus.\nExpertise in one of the following: C# .Net, Java, C++, and/or Web UI\nDemonstrated familiarity with source code configuration management tools such as SVN and Git\nExperienced writing unit tests, using an IDE and understanding basic debugging techniques\nDemonstrated mathematical and analytical skills are required\nDemonstrated understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, database, and operating systems.\nWillingness to travel locally (Occasionally)\nOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies\nExperience with test-driven development is preferred\nExperience with Android, iOS, or React/Redux web development is preferred\nDemonstrated basic knowledge of networking is preferred\nWith guidance from senior engineers, one contributes to the design, coding, documenting and testing software using the Scrum Framework\nDemonstrates understanding of the system design one is working on and understand the role that assigned tasks play in the system\nDemonstrates strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group setting\nDevelops and enhances professional expertise.
