The position will contribute to the implementation of simulation models, scenario development, data analysis, verification and validation activities, and integration of models with software and hardware environments.\nThe engineer will work under the technical direction of senior ModSim and systems engineering personnel and assist with simulation execution, troubleshooting, documentation, and analysis of results. The role will support continued development of reusable modeling capabilities and integration of ModSim products within established software development, test, and engineering workflows.\nPosition Responsibilities\nSupport the development, integration, execution, and analysis of modeling and simulation capabilities used to evaluate system performance.\nAssist with the implementation and maintenance of simulation models and supporting tools.\nDevelop and modify simulation scenarios to support engineering analyses and test objectives.\nPerform data processing, analysis, and interpretation of simulation results.\nSupport model verification, validation, and performance assessment activities.\nAssist with integration of models and simulations with software, hardware, and test environments.\nExecute simulations, troubleshoot technical issues, and document configurations, procedures, and results.\nWork under the technical direction of senior ModSim and systems engineering personnel.\nSupport development of reusable modeling and simulation capabilities.\nIntegrate ModSim products into established software development, test, and engineering workflows.\nPosition Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.\nAbility to acquire and maintain a TS/SCI DOD Security Clearance.\n0-2 years of modeling, simulation, software, or engineering experience; internships, academic projects, or research experience may qualify.\nWorking knowledge of at least one technical programming or scripting language such as C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar.\nBasic understanding of modeling and simulation principles, including development and execution of mathematical, physics-based, or system-level models.\nAbility to analyze simulation outputs, identify trends or anomalies, and communicate technical results.\nFamiliarity with software development practices, including Git-based version control, configuration management, and documentation.\nAbility to support model integration, troubleshooting, verification, and validation activities within an established technical framework.\nAbility to collaborate with modeling and simulation, software, systems, hardware, and test engineering personnel.\nOccasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.\nTravel required to domestic US sites - up to 10%.\nLocation\nOnsite in Albuquerque, NM at Kirtland AFB \nPreferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies\nExperience with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C++, or similar modeling and simulation tools.\nExperience with Directed Energy (High Energy Lasers, High Power Microwaves, Pulsed Lasers, etc.)\nExposure to discrete-event, Monte Carlo, physics-based, mission-level, or system-level simulation.\nFamiliarity with verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) concepts and model performance assessment.\nExperience processing, analyzing, and visualizing simulation or test data.\nFamiliarity with Linux-based development or simulation environments.\nExposure to integrating simulation models with software, hardware, or hardware-in-the-loop environments.\nFamiliarity with GitLab, automated workflows, CI/CD, or containerized simulation environments.\nExposure to DoD, aerospace, defense systems, digital engineering, or mission-level modeling and simulation environments.\nPhysical Demands\nTravel required to domestic US sites - up to 10%.\nAbility to work in an office and manufacturing environment.\nRequired to sit and stand for long periods (Frequent).\nRequired to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent).\nClearance Level\nTS/SCIThe salary range for this role is:\n$60,500 - $92,500AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.\nITAR Requirement:\nThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
