This position will work closely with the Scalable Advanced Materials team to support increased scaled manufacturing of nanoparticles, conductive ink formulations, related process development, and other activities using established laboratory or industrial equipment and procedures.\nYou should be comfortable working in chemical/biological laboratory settings, industrial or manufacturing spaces.\nWork will primarily occur Monday thru Friday during regular business hours, but some weekend and evening work is required.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nGeneral Laboratory Support/Housekeeping\nAssist with the scaling of wet chemistry processes by following established procedures and instructions\nDocumentation of Operations and Lab Activities\nPerforming Laboratory Tasks as Assigned under the guidance of senior technical staff\nFollowing Employee Health and Safety Requirements\nQuality control checks of scaled synthesized materials and documenting results\nMonitor and report routine equipment, process, or material issues to the appropriate technical staff\nRequired Qualifications:\nThis position requires U.S. Citizenship\nBachelor’s degree in chemistry, material science, or Related Engineering Field\nAbility to Follow Written and Verbal Instructions\nProvide technical written reports\nStrong Written and Verbal Communication Skills\nAbility to follow established laboratory procedures and assist with process standardization under the direction of senior technical staff\nAbility to perform assigned tasks with guidance and follow established protocols\nStrong Time Management Skills\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience working in a chemical research laboratory or industrial manufacturing environment\nExperience in >1L wet chemical reactor systems\nExperience with Process Equipment with Integrated Control Systems\nDeveloped SDS and TDS documentation for functional materials\nCompetent with Microsoft Office Products, Particularly Excel, for Graphing, Data Manipulation/Analysis, etc.\nMaterial Processing and Characterization Experience\nWorking Conditions:\nMost tasks will occur within a laboratory environment\nWorking with or around hazards: chemical (e.g., oxidizers, caustics, acids and bases), physical (high pressure/high temperature), and electrical (high voltage/wattage)\nLifting of 50 pounds or less, independently without assistance\nAbility to comfortably stand, sit, or kneel (with a pad) for reasonable periods of time\nClearance Level\nNo ClearanceThe salary range for this role is:\n$25 - $38AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.\nITAR Requirement:\nThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
