Communicates and coordinates with transportation companies. Handles routine questions and problems and maintains open communication with other departments throughout the shipping/delivery cycle. Confirms the accuracy of invoices, bills and charges relative to the shipment of goods. Logs order information into the computer and files and distributes paperwork as necessary. Maintains records and generates reports for accounting and other areas.\nPosition Responsibilities\nExecutes shipping processes including packaging, labeling and shipment of product\n\nIdentifies shipping requirements and best routes and methods for delivery to meet customer requirements\n\nCoordinate shipments for commercial, DoD and international conveyance including all necessary documentation, schedule freight shipments with freight forwarders and carriers, verify shipments’ compliance integrity\n\nPerforms administrative duties in support of activities related to the shipping of finished goods\n\nIdentifies, tracks and maintains all necessary materials and documentation to support internal and external audits\n\nDemonstrates ability to handle shipping internationally and navigate requirements & restrictions\n\nResponsible for implementing best practices including safety requirements, maintaining desk procedures\n\nWorks with Shipping Supervisor and Senior Shipping Clerk on all aspects of the operation\n\nWorks on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations\n\nReceives little instruction on daily work & general instructions on newly introduced assignments\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n\nHAZMAT ground and air shipping certification\n\n2 - 4 years of related experience; 2 years in a global shipping environment\n\nExperience supporting FAA and DOT audits as well as administrative support experience\n\nExperience utilizing UPS, DHL or FedEx online shipping system\n\nPrior forklift experience and/or certification is preferred\n\nOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies\nDemonstrates good understanding of International shipping and customs\n\nPossesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail\n\nIs competent in the use of shipment processing and vendor related programs\n\nAble to effectively prioritize workload to meet scheduling demands\n\nDemonstrates strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and ability to learn new software and technologies\n\nDemonstrates ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties\n\nDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives\n\nTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products\n\nIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others and the company\n\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to work in a warehouse environment (Constant)\n\nAbility to regularly stand for long periods of time (Frequent)\n\nWalk, handle, or feel with the ability to reach with hands and arms (Constant)\n\nRequired to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (Occasional)\n\nAbility to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and carry/move objects of varying shapes and sizes (Frequent)\n\nSpecial Requirements\nU.S. Citizen\n\nHave or the ability to have a DoD Security Clearance\n\nMay be required to travel within the Continental U.S.\n\nClearance Level\nNo ClearanceThe salary range for this role is:\n$23 - $35AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.\nITAR Requirement:\nThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
