The Embedded Software Engineer writes functional software for deployment on embedded devicesand systems likeaircraftand payloads andhave the opportunity totest out those devices in flight test environments. This requires theengineer to design, develop, code, test and debug system software as well as analyze and enhance efficiency,stabilityand scalability of thesoftware onparticular devices. There is a mix of full lifecycle development as well as a need to use existing software code base to expandthe capabilities to match specific program requirements.\nPosition Responsibilities\nWrites and tests software to support integration of sensors and embedded processors intoaircraft(such as autopilots,payloads, software definedradiosor other functional components) or other robotic systems\n\nDesigns and implements software for prototypes and products using established AeroVironment and industry developed toolsand practices. Ensure good configuration control and management of software\n\nAssistsin writing of requirements, test plans, diagnostic tools, and in validation testing of software.Assistwithhardware selection and recommend processing,memoryand storage needs of systems\n\nSupports development of rapid prototyping and conceptual level testing and will require estimating time to develop softwareand scoping the depth of the development with project/program management to fit timeline and budget constraints\n\nWorks closely with other engineering disciplines. Focused on getting the job done\n\nSupports transition of development software to production environments and to certification. Participates in multi-disciplinarydevelopment teams\n\nDevelops proof of concept capability demonstrations. Conducts and supports design reviews\n\nFollows AV's software development process to develop quality code\n\nWorks on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
