This role involves managing and optimizing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations, and driving continuous improvement across Workday Payroll and related modules.\nThe ideal candidate will leverage their Workday expertise to meet business and compliance needs, collaborating closely with stakeholders such as Payroll, HR Operations, Benefits, Finance, and IT teams.\nPosition Responsibilities\nBusiness Partnership and Strategy:\nPartner with Payroll and HR teams to align technology solutions with business and compliance requirements\nAct as a subject matter expert for Payroll processes and systems, documenting workflows, and serving as a trusted advisor.\nTranslate payroll business needs into scalable IT solutions\nSupport merger and acquisition activities by enabling seamless integration of payroll systems, data migration, and alignment of payroll processes across entities\nBusiness Analysis and Planning:\nGather and document payroll requirements and process improvements\nConduct gap analysis to support automation and digitalization initiatives\nSupport roadmap development for Payroll and Time & Absence systems\nTechnology and Project Management:\nManage payroll-related system enhancements, integrations, and releases\nSupport payroll-related projects and ensure timely delivery\nCollaborate with project teams to balance business and enterprise priorities\nLead payroll system integration efforts for mergers and acquisitions, ensuring continuity, compliance, and minimal disruption to operations\nCommunication and Leadership:\nCommunicates with business leadership to align initiatives with established roadmaps.\nTransfers knowledge to leadership and peers, ensuring common processes across departments.\nServes as a business SME to prioritize technology projects and direct strategy.\nOperational Management:\nManage day-to-day operations of Workday Payroll and Time & Absence modules\nConfigure and maintain payroll processes, earnings, deductions, taxes, and compliance rules\nEnsure payroll processing accuracy, including regular, off-cycle, and year-end payroll activities\nTroubleshoot and resolve payroll system issues\nSystem Implementation and Enhancements\nSupport payroll system implementations, upgrades, and testing cycles\nIdentify opportunities for automation and process optimization\nPerform configurations, data loads (EIBs), and system validations\nData Integrity and Reporting\nEnsure payroll data accuracy and integrity through audits and validations\nDevelop and maintain payroll reports and dashboards\nSupport regulatory and compliance reporting (tax, wage, etc.)\nCollaboration and Stakeholder Management\nWork closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and IT teams\nCoordinate with vendors and third-party providers (e.g., tax, payroll interfaces)\nProvide updates to leadership on payroll system performance and initiatives\nCompliance and Audit\nEnsure compliance with payroll regulations and internal controls\nSupport audits and regulatory requirements\nMaintain documentation for payroll processes and configurations\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)\nEducation: bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.\nExperience: 8 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.\n Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of Workday HRIS modules (Payroll, Absence, HCM etc.). \nStrong experience in Workday Payroll and Time & Absence\nHands-on expertise in payroll configuration, processing, and reporting\nProven experience as a Sr. Business Analyst in implementing and managing Workday's Hands-on expertise in payroll configuration, processing, and reporting\nKnowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and best practices\nExperience with integrations and data migration\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills\nOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies\nAdvanced degree is preferred.\nWorkday Payroll certification\nExperience supporting multi-state or global payroll\nExperience with payroll integrations (tax vendors, third-party providers)\nDemonstrates keen attention to detail as well as strong analytical, time management and creative problem-solving skills.\nAble to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties.\nDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives.\nTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products.\nIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company.\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to work in an office environment (Constant)\nRequired to sit and stand for long periods;
