This position will interact with Controls Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers to allocate requirements and develop architectures to drive simulation models. These development efforts will generally be small focused design teams, which will require engineers to use a range of skills and tools across traditional engineering, computer science, and mathematical disciplines. Because of the nature of the development efforts, the engineer will need to work on a variety of stages of development including requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, detailed design, validation and verification testing.\nPosition Responsibilities\nSupport in the following:\nProviding weekly Status of System development progress with requirements burn down\nAllocating Requirements to Subsystems & Engineering coordination\nEvaluating System performance thresholds and providing direction\nDeveloping Instrumented Flight Test vectors and Data acquisition\nDefinition of system Build in Test for Fault Detection, Isolation, Recovery\nDefinition of ground system warnings, cautions, notifications\nAssist in Requirements and Specification Reviews\nPrototyping of autonomous systems and validate designs through a series of purpose designed experiments\nProvide input for model development and simulation analysis\nSupport design and analysis tasks using AeroVironment and industry developed tools\nWrite system requirements, system test plans, and assist in validation testing\nLearn to use professional concepts and build stable working relationships internally\nWork on problems of limited scope and apply company procedures to resolve routine issues\nReceives detailed instructions on all work and follows standard practices in analyzing data\nOther duties as assigned\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)\nBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience\n0 to 2 years of related experience\nFamiliarity with C/C++ and Matlab required\nBasic Matlab skills and familiarity with office software and computer based productivity tools\nThe ideal candidate will be interested in creating Architectures using Model Based Engineering tools\nOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies\nKnowledge of Simulink, Ansys and Solidworks is preferred\nFamiliarity with Python or ROS (Robot Operating System) and Aircraft Terminology is preferred\nAn understanding of Control Theory and Transform functions helpful\nExposure to Guidance Navigation and Control Systems along with Modeling Simulation and Control helpful and to Model-Based Systems Engineering helpful but not required\nAble to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties\nDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives\nTakes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products\nIs committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company\nHas effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
