This role works within cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate system performance, develop and execute test activities, analyze results, identify issues, and communicate technical findings.\nThe Software/System Analyst applies engineering knowledge to support system integration and verification activities across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and operational test environments. This requires the ability to independently analyze technical data, identify system issues, and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment.\nPosition Responsibilities\nAnalyze software and system functionality against technical requirements, system interfaces, and defined capabilities.\nSupport the development of test cases, test procedures, and test scenarios for software and integrated systems.\nPrepare test data, stimuli, and configurations needed to support system verification and validation.\nExecute and support software, system integration, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.\nAnalyze test data, identify trends and discrepancies, and develop technically sound conclusions and recommendations.\nInvestigate system defects and limitations, document findings, and track issues through resolution.\nReview technical analysis performed by other team members and reconcile discrepancies.\nSupport integration of evolving software builds, system components, sensors, and other interfaces.\nDevelop technical reports, presentations, and briefings to communicate test results, system performance, risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership and stakeholders.\nCollaborate with software, systems, hardware, test, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.\nContribute to continuous improvement of analysis, test, and integration processes.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field. \n8+ years of experience in software analysis, systems engineering, integration, testing, or simulation. \nAbility to analyze technical data, support testing, and communicate findings. \nProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. \nStrong communication skills including written, verbal, and technical presentation.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment. \nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of War security clearance, as required.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Python, MATLAB, or other scripting/programming languages.\nExperience with software or systems integration, simulation, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.\nExperience with defense, aerospace, radar, command-and-control, sensor, or weapons systems.\nExperience analyzing complex system interfaces and system-of-systems architectures.\nMilitary or operational experience with air and missile defense systems.\nExperience with Patriot, THAAD, Sentinel, IBCS, Aegis, LTAMDS, IFPC, or related systems.\nExperience presenting technical findings, system risks, or recommendations to senior engineering or program leadership.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities.\nWillingness to travel occasionally, up to 10%.\nWork Environment\nThis position is primarily performed in an office and laboratory environment during standard business hours. \nOccasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to support testing or program activities. \nTravel may be required on an occasional basis.\nClearance Level\nSecretThe salary range for this role is:\nAeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.\nITAR Requirement:\nThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
