This leader owns the end-to-end delivery of network services across corporate, utilities, renewable, and distributed business operations, ensuring secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective connectivity for all business functions worldwide.\nThe role provides leadership for Network Architecture & Engineering and Global Network Operations teams while driving modernization initiatives, operational excellence, vendor performance, cybersecurity alignment, and network transformation programs. The Director serves as the primary technology leader for enterprise networking and connectivity services across on-premises, cloud, datacenter, WAN, SD-WAN, Internet, voice, and remote access environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategy & Leadership\nServe as a direct report and strategic partner to the Senior Director, Global Infrastructure, shaping and executing the global network strategy, roadmap, and operating model in alignment with AES business priorities.\nLead and develop a globally distributed team of network architects, engineers, analysts, and operations professionals.\nEstablish technology standards, governance processes, and service delivery frameworks for network services worldwide.\nDevelop multi-year modernization plans focused on resiliency, security, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.\nBuild strong relationships with business stakeholders, Digital leaders, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and external partners.\nArchitecture & Engineering\nOwn enterprise network architecture, standards, and engineering practices.\nDrive network modernization initiatives including SD-WAN, cloud networking, network segmentation, wireless technologies, and secure remote access.\nEnsure alignment of network platforms with cloud strategies across Azure, GCP, and other strategic platforms.\nReview and approve major network designs, technology selections, and engineering standards.\nEstablish automation-first practices leveraging Infrastructure as Code and policy-driven network management.\nNetwork Operations & Service Delivery\nEnsure 24x7 operational support for global network infrastructure and connectivity services.\nDefine service level objectives and operational metrics to measure availability, performance, and customer satisfaction.\nLead major incident management, problem management, capacity planning, and service improvement initiatives.\nEnsure operational readiness and successful transition of new services into production support.\nDrive operational excellence through process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.\nSecurity, Risk & Resilience\nPartner with Cybersecurity teams to define and implement network security controls and standards.\nEnsure compliance with corporate security policies, regulatory obligations, and audit requirements.\nLead network disaster recovery, business continuity, resiliency, and crisis response preparedness.\nIdentify and mitigate operational, technical, vendor, and security risks across the network landscape.\nFinancial & Vendor Management\nDevelop and manage network operating and capital budgets.\nLead strategic relationships with telecommunications providers, managed service providers, and technology vendors.\nOversee contract negotiations, service reviews, performance management, and cost optimization initiatives.\nDrive continuous improvements in vendor service quality, accountability, and value realization.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or improving service levels.\nPortfolio & Program Leadership\nSponsor and lead global network transformation initiatives.\nEstablish roadmaps and business cases supporting modernization and technology investments.\nProvide executive communications, status reporting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement for strategic programs.\nCollaborate across Infrastructure and Digital organizations to support enterprise initiatives and acquisitions.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.\n10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network infrastructure, including leadership of architecture, engineering, and operations teams in a large, complex, global environment.\nDemonstrated success defining and executing global network strategies, roadmaps, operating models, and large-scale transformation programs.\nDeep knowledge of enterprise networking technologies and services, including WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, cloud networking, datacenter and campus connectivity, wireless, Internet, voice, network segmentation, and secure remote access.\nStrong understanding of network security, cybersecurity controls, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience.\nProven ability to lead globally distributed technical teams, develop talent, establish clear accountability, and foster collaboration across Architecture & Engineering and Operations.\nStrong financial acumen with experience managing operating and capital budgets, business cases, cost optimization, telecommunications contracts, managed service providers, and strategic technology vendors.\nExpertise in service management, major incident and problem management, service-level objectives, performance metrics, capacity planning, and continuous improvement; ITIL certification or equivalent experience preferred.\nDemonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, translate complex technical topics into business outcomes, and communicate effectively with executive, technical, and non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience applying enterprise architecture, program management, and governance frameworks;
