Candidates must live in the area or be willing to relocate before the start date\nThe AES Operations team is looking for a Solar Technician II. This position will cover assigned O&M activities associated with the solar PV sites and substations associated with the utility-scale Solar Energy Plants (Morris Solarworks project) locatedin Missouri. This individual would play a pivotal role in ensuring that AES CE operatesthe portfolio to standards that exceed industry best-practice. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and have the ability tobuild, train and lead other field personnel. As AES CE grows to become one of the leading IPPs in the industry, this role will provide an unparalleled opportunity for professional growth.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform maintenance and operations for solar PV sites and substations.\nHandle corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance.\nWork with equipment like SunGrow 4400, SunGrow 3600, SoltecTrackers high/medium/low voltage switching.\nPrepare and implement switching and clearance orders.\nEnsure compliance with environmental and safety standards.\nWork independently or in teams.\nSkills and Proficiencies:\nExperience with electrical/construction projects and basic IT equipment.\nKnowledge of workplace safety and ability to follow and improve safety standards.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nAbility to work in a diverse organization.\nProblem-solving skills and proactive attitude.\nTechnical proficiency with standard business software.\nKnowledge of safety and environmental regulations.\nEducation and Experience:\n2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications (preferred).\n3+ years as a PV O&M solar technician.\n5+ years in a power plant, with 1+ year in PV Solar O&M or construction.\nKnowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals.\nWorking Conditions:\nMust be able to commute daily to the site (US Hwy 63 and County Road 361 C, Kirksville, Missouri 63501)\nOutdoor work in various weather conditions.\nRequires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, climbing, and using protective equipment.\nMay work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.\nOccasional lifting and working overtime or non-standard hours.\nTraveling up to 10% will be required, mainly to support operations in our Hardy Hills project in Indiana.\nAES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
