This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional looking to expand their expertise, take increasing ownership of complex projects, and contribute to the development of impactful renewable energy solutions.\nIn this role, you will support wind energy projects across the Eastern United States, including the NYISO and PJM service territories. You will manage key early- and mid-stage development activities, coordinate cross-functional contributions across interconnection, land, permitting, environmental, engineering, and commercial teams, and proactively identify and resolve risks to advance projects toward critical development milestones.\nWorking closely with experienced subject-matter experts, you will help shape project strategy, build alignment among stakeholders, and drive successful project outcomes. You will collaborate with both internal and external partners, representing AES professionally and effectively in meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagements. You will work alongside professionals across growth strategy, land acquisition, permitting, real estate, external affairs, stakeholder relations, legal, finance, engineering, interconnection, construction, and other critical project functions, creating exceptional opportunities for professional growth and career development.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead all aspects of project development, including project budgets, schedules, and risk management.\nOwn project development schedules and budgets while partnering with leadership and team members for guidance and support.\nIdentify, assess, and resolve risks across permitting, policy, commercial, technical, and schedule-related workstreams.\nCoordinate cross-functional efforts among project partners and subject-matter experts.\nFacilitate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.\nCommunicate project risks, opportunities, recommendations, and key decisions clearly and effectively.\nDeliver professional presentations and represent project interests in both internal and external forums.\nManage contractual obligations associated with key project agreements.\nLead discretionary permitting activities, including permitting strategy development, permit tracking, collaboration with regulatory authorities, and participation in public hearings.\nPartner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment and successful execution.\nCoordinate environmental studies, site surveys, due diligence activities, and associated reporting.\nCollaborate with internal and external engineering teams as project design and engineering activities advance.\nSupport contractor selection efforts alongside the construction management team.\nCoordinate with execution teams to secure required ministerial permits.\nLead project handoff activities to project execution teams once projects are fully developed and permitted.\nSupport project financing efforts by coordinating diligence activities and providing required documentation.\nManage relationships with external consultants and contractors, including oversight of associated project expenditures.\nProvide analysis and reporting support for business development and project pipeline activities.\nSkills and Qualifications\nApproximately 4 to 8 years of experience in project development or a related field.\nBachelor's degree in renewable energy, urban planning, logistics, finance, business, engineering, project or construction management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.\nStrong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nKnowledge of renewable energy project development, utility infrastructure, interconnection processes, permitting, and contracting.\nFamiliarity with renewable energy and energy storage technologies.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution capabilities.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team-oriented environment.\nWillingness and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, with additional travel as project needs require.\nExperience using CRM platforms and developing meaningful project metrics and reporting.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.\nAES is an Equal Opportunity Employer who is committed to building strength and delivering long-term sustainability through diversity and inclusion.
