This role oversees demand planning alignment, material availability, and inventory optimization while driving continuous improvement across planning processes and systems. The Material Planning Manager partners closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management to balance cost, service, and operational efficiency.\nEssential Functions\nDevelop and execute material plans to support production schedules, customer demand, and business objectives.\nEnsure timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies to support manufacturing and program requirements.\nMonitor and optimize inventory levels to balance service levels, cash flow, and storage constraints.\nEstablish and maintain safety stock policies and planning parameters.\nTranslate production schedules and forecasts into accurate material requirements using MRP/ERP systems.\nIdentify and mitigate material constraints, shortages, and risks to production continuity.\nPartner with Procurement and Material Program Managers to manage lead times, capacity constraints, and material availability.\nWork cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to resolve material issues and support program execution.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning accuracy, efficiency, and visibility.\nSupport ERP/MRP system enhancements, data accuracy initiatives, and planning tool implementations.\nPrepare and present material planning metrics, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.\nAnalyze trends and root causes related to inventory performance and material shortages.\nSupport financial planning and budgeting activities related to inventory and material spend.\nPerform other duties as required.\nStandard Essential Functions\nRegular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].\nResponsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.\nEmbodies AEVEX’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.\nQualifications and Competencies\nStrong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).\nExperience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\nStrong background in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).\nEducation / Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field.\nMaster’s degree or professional certification (CPIM, CSCP, PMP) preferred\nExperience\n10+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.\n5+ years of people management or team leadership experience.\nExperience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment.\nExperience with S&OP / IBP processes.\nExperience managing materials in a complex, multi-product or program-based environment.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
