We are searching for a multi-faceted production and manufacturing engineer. We are looking for someone who understands formal manufacturing environments and is able to focus on the key elements that will take us to the next level. This role is broad from shaping our MRP system to evolving material and production management systems to planning production. The primary focus will be taking designs from development to production with the majority of the work coming in the form of integration of products into UAV/USVs.\nEssential Functions\nDevelops Assembly Work Instructions (AWIs) in conjunction with the development and production teams.\nDevelops tooling, fixtures, jigs, and shop aids to support production of UAVs/USVs.\nEvaluates existing manufacturing processes to improve them, working broadly from supply chain to business systems to help things run smoothly.\nDevelops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.\nImproves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.\nAssures product and process quality by designing and implementing testing methods where required.\nProvides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.\nPrepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.\nProvides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.\nMaintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.\nKeeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.\nMaintains product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.\nCompletes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nStandard Essential Functions\nRegular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].\nResponsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.\nEmbodies AEVEX’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.\nQualifications and Competencies\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAbility to lead cross-functional teams\nEffective project management capabilities\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nResults-driven with a focus on operational excellence\nStrong manufacturing engineering experience centered around work instructions, test equipment, support equipment design for production\nEducation / Certifications\nBachelor of Science in engineering or related field required.\nMasters Degree preferred.\nExperience\n9+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering roles\nDefense manufacturing is a plus, but not necessary\nExperience using CAD or CAM software (SOLIDWORKS)\nExperience with 3D printing\nExperience with fixtures, shop aids, work instructions\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
