This role is responsible for managing field operations, subcontractors, project schedules, budgets, safety compliance, and quality standards while serving as the primary point of contact between AFL, clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of data center infrastructure, and the ability to manage multiple project phases in fast-paced construction environments.\nResponsibilities\nProject Management\nManage all phases of data center construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.\nCoordinate construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.\nMonitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables and provide regular status updates to leadership and clients.\nReview construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents to ensure compliance.\nIdentify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.\nField Operations\nDirect daily construction activities and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.\nConduct site inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.\nCoordinate material deliveries and manage site logistics.\nResolve field issues and construction challenges efficiently to minimize project delays.\nVerify completion of work packages and support project closeout activities.\nClient & Stakeholder Management\nServe as the primary liaison between AFL, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.\nParticipate in client meetings and provide updates on project progress, risks, and schedule impacts.\nMaintain positive working relationships with customer representatives and project teams.\nSupport change management processes and customer requests.\nFinancial Management\nMonitor project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and cost controls.\nReview and approve subcontractor invoices and payment applications.\nTrack labor utilization and project expenses.\nAssist leadership in financial reporting and project profitability reviews.\nSafety & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with AFL safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer site requirements.\nLead safety meetings, site audits, and toolbox talks.\nPromote a culture of safety and accountability among all site personnel.\nInvestigate and document incidents and corrective actions as required.\nQuality Assurance\nImplement quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.\nConduct inspections and ensure all work meets customer and industry standards.\nManage punch list activities and project turnover documentation.\nSupport commissioning and operational readiness activities.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.\nMinimum 5+ years of construction management experience, with at least 2+ years supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects.\nExperience managing subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.\nStrong understanding of construction methodologies, safety practices, and project controls.\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting hyperscale data center projects.\nKnowledge of electrical, fiber, structured cabling, low-voltage, and network infrastructure systems.\nOSHA 30 Certification.\nPMP, CCM, or equivalent construction/project management certifications.\nExperience with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.\nFamiliarity with commissioning and turnover processes for mission-critical facilities.\nKey Competencies\nLeadership and Team Development\nClient Relationship Management\nConstruction Scheduling\nBudget and Cost Control\nRisk Management\nContract Administration\nQuality Assurance\nSafety Leadership\nProblem Solving\nCommunication and Collaboration\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in active construction environments.\nFrequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, and navigating uneven terrain.\nAbility to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.\nMust be able to wear required PPE and comply with site-specific safety policies.\nTravel Requirements\nTravel up to 75%-100% based on project location and business needs.\nAbility to work extended hours, weekends, and rotational schedules as project demands require.\nWhy AFL Global?\nAt AFL, we connect people and businesses through innovative communication infrastructure solutions.
